Before I begin this one, I’ve got to admit that I didn’t even know about Enola Holmes before sitting down to watch this trailer for the upcoming film on Netflix. The Young Adult fiction series that this film is based on comes care of writer Nancy Springer and there are six novels in the series currently. Now adapted for the screen and set to air on Netflix, the first trailer has been revealed. Below you’ll also find the premise, the cast and the films poster. Enjoy.
The Premise: The film chronicles the adventures of Sherlock Holmes’ younger sister Enola, as she embarks on a quest to find her missing mother. When Enola Holmes-Sherlock’s teen sister-discovers her mother missing, she sets off to find her, becoming a super-sleuth in her own right as she outwits her famous brother and unravels a dangerous conspiracy around a mysterious young Lord.
Millie Bobby Brown as Enola Holmes
Henry Cavill as Sherlock Holmes
Sam Claflin as Mycroft Holmes
Helena Bonham Carter as Eudoria Holmes
Frances de la Tour
Louis Partridge as Lord Tewksbury
Piercing Ken Thoughts: Though this is aimed at a younger audience than I am a part of I’ve got to say that it looks like a fun-filled film. I might even watch this provided I can clear up the other programs I have marked as “must see” on my streaming queues. Had there been a Book Expo and Book Con this year I guess I would have learned a bit more about the film but that was one of the first conventions that I was planning to do that was postponed due to the viral pandemic. There are some great actors in this film for sure and I’ve always liked Millie Bobby Brown since first seeing her work. What did you readers think about this trailer? Will you be watching with the younger members of your family or do you also just like this kind of film for your entertainment once in a while? Chime in down below in the comments section. See you next time. This film will be available on Netflix on 9/23. Don’t worry I will return to remind you about that as well.
