As I mentioned a few days ago, I am down in Myrtle Beach, SC visiting the family and during this visit we’ve been hitting a number of the tourist attractions. This post is about the adventure that was found in the Hollywood Wax Museum which opened last year according to my father. On my last visit in 2014 it was still being built and all I saw was this next photo below. Needless to say it sure did interest me and here we were. That is one mighty Kong isn’t it.
Here’s a couple of shots of the fountain at the entrance which show off a giant statue of Oscar. That is his name isn’t it?
While you wait online to get in you can purchase a ticket to be in King Kong’s hand and get a photograph of it. I preferred just taking a photo of Kong as opposed to doing the pose thing. I find these are super over-priced even though the memory is a fun one at the end of the day.
Alright let’s go inside. I will not be talking all that much during the presentation because I feel that the images pretty much speak for themselves. Some have the name signs next to them while others I will leave for you to guess. As we walk along you might agree that some statues are spot on while others might not be all that close. Either way they are still awesome.
What! Nothing relating him to “Iron Man” – Damn what a bummer.
I loved the 50’s diner counter and the celebs that it brought to wax like life.
These little vaults each had an artifact behind them. Looking back on this part of the wandering, I should have opened up each and every one of them for your entertainment pleasure but I only opened the two that you will see below.
Now we’re up to my favorite part of the museum’s wax figures. The horror section. There were some truly deadly creatures of the night in this side area. Hold hands with someone as we walk into the darkness together. You might need the company if you get too frightened. You would miss the section if you wandered ahead too fast. These type of museums tend to lead you on a path that goes through the entire thing and there is no easy walking back through crowds. Trust me on this.
I’m going to pause right here because I still have a lot of photos to share with you from this adventure. Let’s pick up where we left off tomorrow shall we? Alright I will see you then, same bat time same bat channel. Thanks for reading this installment, I look forward to bringing you the rest.
