Hey there my kind readers, I’m taking a pause out of the generally hectic day to share something special with you all. So as you are probably already aware, I just love to celebrate any milestones that the creative brands achieve with our audience because its the kind of stuff that brings you deeper into the process with me. It also shows that these worlds keep on growing and entertaining our audience. With that being said, I am happy to share that “The Chronicles” of Piercing Ken website has recently published its 1,500th post on the WordPress site.
Hello my Friends, I’m going to repeat myself here on “The Chronicles” with a slightly modified announcement that recently went live over on the PiercingMetal website because its pretty cool news IMHO. I am taking a moment out of the usual publishing schedule to talk about my Ken Pierce Media brand which I think many of the diehard readers might recall as being announced here back in June of 2020 during the height of the pandemic. What began quite simply has grown considerably and today the Ken Pierce Media angle is now one full year old and I should point out that this is the very first time that I broadcast about a websites debut anniversary. Though a unifying presence to the larger body of creative work, Ken Pierce Media does not supplant or replace the PiercingMetal or Piercing Ken sites as much as expands their voice. Some personal insight on the first anniversary can be found in a blog post that you can find HERE and I think you will find it interesting.
If you’ve examined my PiercingMetal.com site you probably are well aware of the regional events calendar that it features. If not, this has been an offering for the readers since that site was launched and back in 2015 it had a significant upgrade to a WordPress plugin called “The Events Calendar”. To say that this has been a boon in keeping the site visitors aware of all the awesome that is happening around us is an understatement. That makes today an exciting day for me here at The Chronicles Of Piercing Ken since I have decided to integrate this same calendar plugin as a feature on this website as well. Clicking the logo image below will launch it for you but you can do that a little later since I want to discuss what this one will entail first.
Initially I thought that I could easily share the Webcalendar from PiercingMetal.com over here and be done with it but with the readers of this site being very different from that side of my creative coin I decided that it deserved a calendar of its own. Since “The Chronicles” is a Lifestyle website this calendar would feature more lifestyle related items than my other one and surely no Metal shows at all. At times there will be some listings that mirror the PM.com one such as the NY Comic Con and other related events but there will also be conventions and festivals that you would never see lined out on my other site. I’ve already begun populating the final regional performances of the circus and the upcoming NY Auto Show and in most cases these listings will come with links to purchase tickets to make it easier on you. I’ve already made plans for some food-related and family focused happenings to be listed and at the end of the day the goal remains the same – get people into some fun-filled and interesting events.
The Chronicles Calendar can be accessed via our menu options at the top of the page and I encourage you to bookmark it as it will be updated regularly. I hope that you all enjoy it and tell others that its here. Please feel free to toss some thoughts on this new initiative down in the comments below. I’d love to hear from you.
Hey there. I just wanted to take a quick commercial break from the regularly scheduled blogging to let you all know that the PiercingKen Blog has successfully hit the beginning of our second year. It’s exciting for me to say the least because I was still enjoying the feeling of accomplishment after recently celebrating seven years of PiercingMetal.com as a website and having its own blog hit five years shortly after that. When one considers how rapidly blogs and websites come and go nowadays thanks to things like Facebook Pages it’s always nice to have clocked in with another year of creative output.
I’ll admit to the readers that I really love having the PiercingKen Blog because it lets me do absolutely anything that I feel like tossing into the mix. Sometimes I will talk about music or past experiences in the field and sometimes I will do something with a more culinary flair and show you how to properly assemble a Vietnamese chicken noodle soup. PiercingKen is my catch all, but at the same time is a real day to day life observance through my eyes and will bring to your attention anything that I see that I feel like writing about or sharing with you. Some readers love it and there are others who, well, I really don’t care if they like it or not. Those folks can spend their time surfing around for other stuff that suits their fancy.
I’ve been going through so many photo folders to see what we have for upcoming posts and believe me there is a healthy amount of “travelog” kind of stuff to share with you along with whatever else happens to amuse me at the time. I might even scan some older photographs of places that I shot years ago and would like to explore as a creative today. Who knows. Just stay tuned by subscribing to our RSS Feed or adding our Official Facebook Page or Twitter. Thanks for making the past two years a lot of fun, I love keeping you entertained.
It was only just over two weeks ago that I announced the debut of a brand-new blog that I would be launching called “The Chronicles Of Piercing Ken”. If you didn’t see that post, just click HERE to be more up to speed with the news. This new blog was being delivered to the interested using Google’s Blogger software.
Today I am here to share the news that a proper dotcom domain name has been secured with “PiercingKen.com” and WordPress is now installed under this domain so no more using Blogger for the posts. I spent most of yesterday integrating the few weeks of old posts into the new WordPress software and from here on everything that you will be reading will be in WordPress. For the interim I have a “We Have Moved” sign posted as the final post on the Blogger account but in time that entire presence might be deleted to avoid any confusion. The writer in me wants all the traffic to come to the correct location and stay here and I’ve gotten pretty adept at WordPress since I’ve been using it on the PiercingMetal Blog as well for a couple of years. The blog has a few dozen subscribers so I want them to find the new place easy enough.
I’m also using Social Media for this. I’ve placed a link to my Twitter below so you can follow along with whatever I am getting up to over here. You might laugh at the notion that I have not used that Twitter account since some time in late 2009 so it will be nice to finally have a reason to tweet about things we are doing on the site. Perhaps I will employ the other social networks that are available to keep people in the loop a bit better. Anything that helps to generate site traffic and attention is good in my book. Okay that is all I have to share with you. Let’s make this something fun together.
