Reedpop Announces Bookcon’s Fifth Edition With An Initial All-Star Lineup

Yesterday we received the first press release from the folks handling the affairs for the 2018 Book Con, which is an event that we have attended a few times over the recent years. In hopes to raise awareness among those who are reading this website, I’m sharing said release with you and hope to do more as they come in to the Creative Command HQ.

The Press Release:
ReedPOP, the world’s leading producer of pop culture events, today unveiled the initial lineup of Authors joining BookCon 2018. Celebrating its fifth edition, the groundbreaking consumer book event will take place on June 2 & 3, 2018 at the Javits Center in New York City. Headlined by bestselling Authors and the world’s hottest Hollywood talent, BookCon brings storytelling to life through a series of Panels, Screenings, Author Q&As, Autographing sessions and more. This year’s BookCon also introduces interactive content including four writing workshops produced in conjunction with Sarah Lawrence College, writing contests and more. Tickets for BookCon 2018 will go on sale November 15 at 12:00 PM EST.

Hollywood stars will once again take the BookCon stage, with actor and singer Taye Diggs (Rent, Empire) joining the lineup with his best friend Shane Evans to promote their upcoming children’s picture book, I Love You More. Social Media star Zach King will showcase his middle grade novel Zach King: The Magical Mix-Up, and Diane Guerrero (Orange is the New Black, Jane the Virgin) will take the stage to discuss My Family Divided, a middle-grade nonfiction work about her experiences as the child of undocumented immigrants.

The initial Guest list for BookCon also includes bestselling Author Angie Thomas, whose debut novel The Hate U Give has spent over 30 weeks on the New York Times’ YA Bestsellers List and will soon be adapted into a feature film starring Amandla Stenberg (Everything, Everything). Young Adult favorites have joined the lineup as well, including Victoria Aveyard to talk about the latest Red Queen novel War Storm, Leigh Bardugo (Six of Crows, The Language of Thorns) who will be promoting her upcoming novel King of Scars, Kami Garcia to showcase her new book Broken Beautiful Hearts, Jason Reynolds to discuss Long Way Down, and Marissa Meyer who will be onsite previewing the first book in her much-anticipated superhero series, Renegades. This is only the beginning of the lineup for BookCon 2018 and ReedPOP will continue to add and announce Guests and content up until the Show.

PiercingMetal Goes To NY Comic Con 2017 @ Javits Center

Good afternoon my friends. I’m taking a minute of your time to use The Chronicles as a PSA to let you know that I have just begun loading up my thoughts and images from the currently running NY Comic Con. As usual this event is taking over the Javits Center and beyond and I am proud to share that I am once again wandering this massive happening as a member of the press. If you click the graphic below, you will be transported over to the PiercingMetal.com website and see a rundown of the posts that are online.

So far there are a little more than a handful, but that is because the event is still running at the time of this writing. It’s common for me to post between 4 and 6 posts per day from the convention since I like to keep the images to “50” and no more per post. It’s more work like this but who cares, I want to give you the most I possibly can. Please check it out and know that much more is coming to this site as well based on all the things that I have been lining up.

Remember that the means to comment on this post has been turned OFF as I encourage those who are compelled to add thoughts to do so on the chapter that is most relevant to do so on. Thanks for listening.

Exploring Book Expo 2017: Little Golden Books @ Javits Center

As noted in previous posts, we’ve been exploring the 2017 edition of the Book Expo, which many might recall was once referred to as Book Expo America and has been discussed for a few years on this and the PiercingMetal.com website. Readers can check out some historical archive by clicking HERE. This year, in addition to the larger convention presentation, I’d like to shine a spotlight on some of the special stuff and one such company is Little Golden Books.

This years convention had a colorful truck that was celebrating the companies 75th Anniversary and inside said truck was a walk-through of their history. I figured that this would be of great interest to those who were not able to attend. Enjoy.

Exploring Book Expo 2017 @ Javits Center (Part One)

Greetings my friends, I am happy to report that I am once again attending the Book Expo as a member of the press.  The event used to be called Book Expo America but it was rebranded a couple of years ago.  It also moved to Chicago for a year so we missed out on it but now its back in the New York Groove and I couldn’t be happier.   Below is what the Media Badge looked like and here we go.
