It was back in October when we last touched upon the topic of the Universal Pictures film “Dolittle” and as mentioned back then this one finds Robert Downey Jr. (Marvel’s “Iron Man”) in the role made famous by the great Rex Harrison. The 2020 re-imagining comes some 53 years after that “Doctor Dolittle film and though you’ve seen the First Trailer, it’s now time to enjoy a second. The Premise: After his wife’s death seven years earlier, the eccentric John Dolittle, famed doctor and veterinarian of Victorian England, hermits himself away behind the high walls of Dolittle Manor with only his menagerie of animals for company. But when Queen Victoria falls gravely ill, a reluctant Dolittle is forced to set sail on an epic adventure to a mythical island in search of a cure, regaining his wit and courage as he crosses old adversaries and encounters wondrous creatures. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen the original “Doctor Dolittle” film which starred the great Rex Harrison. That film opened in 1967 so it makes sense that a remake would be done and this new Universal Pictures stars Robert Downey Jr. in the role. Let’s check out the first official trailer for the film.
