Hey readers, I am here to share some news with you and inform you that PiercingMetal.com attended the first-ever Anime NYC Convention which debuted at the Javits Center this weekend. As you might expect, this is focused mainly on the Anime and Manga stuff which we are still getting an education on and you can join in on the adventure by clicking HERE. Doing so will transport you over to PiercingMetal.com and launch a new browser tab with all of the posts from the convention. I hope you enjoy it and I now return you to the regularly scheduled everything else we do here…
Please Note: Comments are disabled on this traffic sign of a post and are instead preferred on each of the serialized chapters that you will find over on PiercingMetal after clicking the link. Doing that will allow you to better keep on topic with the presented content. This was surely a fun convention and one that I hope will be running for years to come.

Awesome News! Clutter And Leftfield Announce The Five Points Festival
So I hope that you managed to get over to PiercingMetal and see all of the NY Comic Con posts that were going live as there were a ton of photos to enjoy. It’s one of my favorite conventions to attend despite the crushing humanity and now it looks like the game is going to be offering up a brand new experience for fans of the medium and that of designer toys with the recently announced “Five Points Festival”. I don’t usually use “The Chronicles” for announcements such as this but I think its going to be a good idea to help raise awareness as the aim to reach more and more people with this Lifestyle Blog becomes a plan. With that said, let’s take a glance at the full press release that I received.
The Press Release:
Clutter Magazine and LeftField Media today announced the debut of the Five Points Festival, a new convention focused on designer toys and comic art launching next year in New York City’s Lower East Side. The first Five Points Festival will take place May 20-21, 2017 inside Pier 36’s Basketball City, and the event presents itself as the antidote to the average con – a showcase for artists, creators, independent brands, and the counterculture they make.
Five Points will bring together influential names across the designer toy and comic worlds, with a roster already pledging their support. Clutter Magazine, a leading voice in the designer toy world, will curate the Five Points Festival’s toy guests and exhibits, with brands Kidrobot, Super7, Popaganda, Cotton Candy Machine, and Toy Tokyo taking part, and Ron English and Tara McPherson leading the art toy luminaries who’ll appear as guests. On the comic side, Five Points will be presented overall by Midtown Comics, the largest comic retailer in America, and confirmed comic artists and writers in attendance – known for their independent, avant garde, and creator-owned work – will include Bryan Lee O’Malley, Amy Reeder, Brandon Montclare, Kate Leth, Cliff Chiang, Ivan Brandon, Christopher Hastings, and James Tynion IV.

Hurray: Second Annual Play Fair to Return to New York in November 2017
As many of you readers might recall, a number of Toy Fair 2016 adventures were posted right here on the Chronicles Of PiercingKen website. It’s a practice that I plan on continuing with at future events based on my findings. This year’s event was extra special since it featured a brand new event called “PLAY FAIR” which allowed the general public the means to explore some of what I see at Toy Fair with their children. What a great idea that was. I’m now pleased to share this press release with you that announces the events return in 2017 during a different month and with an expanded program, you can read that below and to review my findings of the 2016 Play Fair just click on THIS LINK.
The Press Release:
Public Play Expo to Double in Size at Javits Center
NEW YORK, NY | June 13, 2016 – The second annual Play Fair, a public celebration of play and entertainment for all ages, will nearly double in size at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center when it returns to New York City on November 4-5, 2017. A joint venture between the Toy Industry Association (TIA) and LeftField Media, Play Fair offers families and media the opportunity to enjoy interactive play experiences with new toys, games and popular characters, as well as purchase new and exclusive products.
Halls 1A and 1B of the Javits Center will provide Play Fair 2017 with 150,000 square feet of contiguous space for brands to unveil new toy lines and encourage hands-on activities among thousands of play enthusiasts, and 10 dedicated panel rooms will allow for increased and more varied programming and events.
“Play Fair’s massive exhibition area will accommodate returning brands with increased presences and welcome new first-time exhibitors, and our dates will now position Play Fair at the heart of the pre-holiday season,” said Greg Topalian, president of LeftField Media. “Planning is already underway to expand character photo ops, develop an elaborate art and crafting space, build a children’s book and author pavilion, expand our feature stages and create a hands-on video game experience.”
In addition to Play Fair’s move to the pre-holiday shopping season, the event will grow to add a third day.
