Continuing along with some of the fun that was had by “The Chronicles of Piercing Ken” at this years Toy Insider “Sweet Suite” over at the Chelsea Piers. Now as some of you recall, once we had the YouTube Channel up and running for this website, I began doing unboxing clips after we had finished this event since all the participants were sent a massive Swag Box. This was loaded to the brim and made for some cool content. Now in 2023 they have changed the game and are no longer sending out the boxes and instead give you a healthy bagful of goodies to enjoy. Truth be told this will likely be better when you consider all of the package thefts that we hear about and will prevent anyone who wants more stuff from complaining that theirs never arrived. While the video is resident on the Channel, I’ve embedded it here along with the individual product photos that will follow it. Let’s go.
It was only a few weeks ago that I attended the second-ever “Sweet Suite @ Home” which is the virtual offshoot of the Toy Insider’s popular toy industry event the “Sweet Suite”. With the pandemic still causing issues with larger public gatherings, the folks at the Insider determined that it was best to do this virtually one more time. This event was preceded by the first “Holiday of Play @ Home”. When the event has passed, the participants are sent a gift box and with unboxing clips a hot practice these days I have offered up thoughts and a bit more as I unbox the goodies for our Official YouTube Channel. Piercing Ken Thoughts: So there you have it, a whole lot of cool stuff and items that I hope you were making some notes about for your own shopping lists. I have to say that I enjoy doing these kinds of clips and if I end up at their “Holiday of Play” event in the coming months that I will do another one. I hope I can work it out because it will not be virtual and is instead back to being an in-person affair. There are so many people that I miss from this group and the vendors that it will be some proper medicine for sure. That’s all I have to say about this so I will see you next time around. Hey there my friends, so we recently attended the first-ever, Toy Insider “Sweet Suite @ Home” which as you might have surmised what a virtual event and replaced the annual in-person happening The Sweet Suite. This post continues the awesome that was started in that narrative and finds me digging into the contents of the swag box which is usually loaded to the hilt with coolness. Let’s unbox.
One of the first nice surprises in the box was this wonderful stuffed Blue from the very popular younger childrens program “Blues Clues”.
This unique game let’s you see things upside down and trust me its a wild sort of visual. This game must be a blast.
There are always wonderful products coming from the fine folks at Crayola. Let them help you have an artastic life.
Here’s one of the most iconic toy items ever, the famous Slinky. I had this as a kid of course and even one that was made of plastic but I don’t remember liking that all too much.
One of my favorite discoveries at Toy Fair was the Scooby Doo stuff from Playmobil. This blind bag contains one of the ghostly figures that our intrepid team would be trying to dispense on the classic show. This line is a must have for sure. Even for the older collectors who remember the show with fondness.
A miniature-sized take on the popular Hatchimals.
I love the Stikbot stuff and mostly based on the cool animations I have seen people create with them. I’d love to do something like this but I barely have the patience required to do stop motion things today.
A cute game which is a take on the popping the bubble wrap. This one likely will not make much of a mess either. I still love popping the real deal packing stuff though.
Another one of the things that’s right up my alley. Action figures that help spark the creativity.
This charming product is perfect for the youngest of the family circle. Magnetic soft pieces will allow for endless fun I think.
