Hello my dear readers, I’m here to share with you the recent adventures that I had at the annual PDN Photoplus Expo which takes place at the Jacob Javits Center. It’s actually my sixth year in a row at this Expo and below you’ll find my visuals and some thoughts as I need to share them. Have fun and let’s explore the floor together.
For the past four days, NY Comic Con had taken over the Jacob Javits Center and I was once again fortunate to be able to attend as a member of the press to put a story or three up on the PiercingMetal.com site. If you would like to see the visuals from our adventures at the Con (we went all four days mind you), just click the logo below to be transported over to that site where you can see the whole gamut. There are a healthy number of photographs to enjoy in the posts and I hope you like them (especially if you attended the Con).
Just to remind readers of this site about how I do my NY Comic Con posts on PiercingMetal.com; historically speaking I try to post no more than fifty images per post which allows any of the featured vendors and cosplayers to find themselves easily. This ends up making me have to post more but who cares, content is king and the more the merrier I always say. I’ve disabled the comments on this post since its more of a traffic sign that will direct you over to the main posts on PiercingMetal.com; You can comment over there if you have some topical viewpoints for sure.
A few days ago, the Jacob Javits Center hosted not one but two consecutive events that I attended as a member of the Press with the first being Book Expo America and the second, The Book Con which I am presenting to you in this narrative. Initially I was going to post this on the PiercingMetal website but since none of the items that I would focus on were discovered at this event I opted to post it here. This is mostly a photographic presentation but I’ll chime in as needed. The official press badge will let me get the most out of this event in the business sense. Enjoy.
Hello there and welcome back. As I mentioned in the previous post, the coverage of this years Book Expo America was going to be presented right here on PiercingKen.com as opposed to my PiercingMetal.com since the exploring bore broader fruit. Starting off my visuals is the sign from the Press Office. The area itself is nice to have to sit down and collect some notes but I didn’t notice any coffee or snacks this time around which was a bit of a bummer.
One of the first things that I learned was happening today would be a signing of a preview by the legendary Richard Hell of a tome called “Massive Pissed Love”. Though I never personally followed his band The Voidoids during the heyday but of course know the seminal tune “Blank Generation” and how important it is to Rock history. Here are a few photos from that part of the morning.
Hello readers and welcome to my explorations at this years Book Expo America. Its also commonly referred to as BEA and for a few years has been taking place at the Javits Center where you find us for Comic Con, Photoplus Expo and Toy Fair. In the past I’ve documented these findings over on the PiercingMetal.com site in narratives that you can examine HERE but this time around I wanted to line it all out on the PiercingKen site. My reasons for doing this are simply based on their being a wider range of discoveries that fell outside of the normal offerings of the stuff I would focus on with my other site so sit back, enjoy that coffee and wander the halls of Javits with me.
Here’s what the Press Badge looks like for BEA and as you can see there is a QR Code that vendors and such will be scanning throughout the course of the expo. Its easier to add my outlet to mailing lists in this fashion to be honest. Here’s a couple of shots of the lobby floor before I headed inside the expo.
