NBA To Suspend Season Until Further Notice Amid Covid-19 Coronavirus Concerns

nba logo, national basketball association logo

The Press Release:
The NBA announced that a player on the Utah Jazz has preliminarily tested positive for COVID-19. The test result was reported shortly prior to the tip-off of Wednesday’s game between the Jazz and Oklahoma City Thunder at Chesapeake Energy Arena. At that time, Wednesday’s game was canceled. The affected player was not in the arena.

The NBA is suspending game play following the conclusion of Wednesday’s schedule of games until further notice. The NBA will use this hiatus to determine next steps for moving forward in regard to the coronavirus pandemic.

Piercing Ken Thoughts: I am running out of things to say about this and just am getting more and more concerned about the events that I go to still being in place and no signs of being cancelled. Be careful out there my friends.

The Press Release:
At the direction of the County of Riverside and local health authorities, we must sadly confirm the rescheduling of Coachella and Stagecoach due to COVID-19 concerns. While this decision comes at a time of universal uncertainty, we take the safety and health of our guests, staff and community very seriously. We urge everyone to follow the guidelines and protocols put forth by public health officials.

Coachella will now take place on October 9, 10 and 11 and October 16, 17 and 18, 2020. Stagecoach will take place on October 23, 24 and 25, 2020. All purchases for the April dates will be honored for the rescheduled October dates. Purchasers will be notified by Friday, March 13 on how to obtain a refund if they are unable to attend.

Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to seeing you in the desert this fall.

Piercing Ken Thoughts: Historically speaking, we’ve never attended any of the Coachella festivals and its mostly because we’ve a full plate of music that we really like going on over here on the East Coast. That being said, we still announced this stuff on “The Chronicles” based on the broader brush and wider audience demographic of readers. This is just the latest in a long line of already cancelled conventions and tours that I’ve discussed here and on my PiercingMetal website and I think many more are to come. Stay tuned and stay healthy. I attended a convention today and I don’t think that I shook a single hand once. Everyone I engaged with got a peace sign, a thumb’s up and yeah even a Spock “Live Long and Prosper”. See you next time.

Piercing Ken Thoughts: I’ve already marked the new dates for this event on our calendar in the event that you get sidelined and forget when June rolls around. Let’s hope that by then this whole outbreak has been dealt with so that all can get back to some sense of normalcy. See you next time.
