New York Auto Show To Unveil 250K Sq. Ft. EV Experience This Spring

With a host of innovations and fresh new experiences for potential car buyers, the New York Auto Show has big plans to excite and educate attendees on the benefits of driving electric with a major ‘Electric Test Fest’ that will take up two-thirds of the Show’s lower level. The Show opens to the public April 15-24 (press days: April 13 &14) at the fully-expanded Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in Manhattan.
With an enormous indoor track, attendees will have the opportunity to ride in a wide range of electric vehicles including new models from Chevrolet, Kia, Nissan, Volvo, and EV start-ups INDI from California and Vietnam’s VinFast. In addition, Ford and Hyundai will incorporate EV test tracks into their own displays on the main show floor so consumers can take a ride in even more electrics.

The New York International Travel Show Set To Debut October 2022

The New York International Travel Show (nyITS 2022), a new trade and consumer travel conference and exhibition that replaces The New York Times Travel Show, will take place from Friday, Oct. 28 to Sunday, Oct. 30, 2022, at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City.
“After producing and managing the New York Times Travel Show for the previous 17 years, we understand the importance of having a world-class travel industry conference and exhibition in New York that addresses issues important to the recovery of global tourism”, said Paul Muir, president of nyITS 2022. “We are delighted to be teaming up again with many of our travel industry partners and sponsors.”
James Shillinglaw, Insider Travel Report’s editor-in-chief, and co-founder, will continue his role as conference chairman for nyITS 2022. “I am honored that I will play a role in developing our extensive conference program at nyITS 2022,” said Shillinglaw. “At this important time in the history of the travel industry, we need to help provide insight and solutions for the domestic and global travel marketplace.”

World’s Largest Queer Comic Con, Flame Con, Announces Its Return to Times Square

Flame Con, created by the LGBTQ non-profit Geeks OUT, is announcing its return to an in-person event on Saturday and Sunday, August 20-21. The convention moved online in August 2020 as a result of the pandemic and remained virtual as New York City began a partial-opening the following summer. After several years of record in-person attendance, Flame Con organizers look forward to gathering safely with fans and creators at the Sheraton New York Times Square Hotel this August.
“We’ve been so fortunate to have our community’s support and enthusiasm as we have navigated an unpredictable two years,” said Geeks OUT President, Nic Gitau. “Through this time of loss, we’ve seen people find new ways to maintain their joy and connections.
