The Christmas Trees Of New York City 2018

The Christmas Season is in full sway in New York City and I will not be lying when I say that it’s one of my favorite times of the year because everything is so beautifully decorated and lit up for all to enjoy. One of the “Holiday Hobbies” I’ve had for a couple of years now, has been my annual “Christmas Tree Hunt” and this initiative involves me trekking around our metropolis to assorted locations where some nicely done trees are set up. The hope is to snap a few photos for the website and our social networks and maybe even help spark the townies to do something similar and show the tourists that there is more than the massive Rockefeller Center tree to enjoy. This year I’ll be using my Samsung point and shoot along with my Galaxy Note 8 and I’ll start the adventure with the origami tree that is set up in the incredible American Museum of Natural History but first we are greeted by a dinosaur.

This beautiful tree features tons of origami art and these hand-crafted decorations all depict sea life. I’ve secured a few different angles on this “Oceans Of Origami” presentation. It was awesome to see in person and I hope that this inspires you to come to the museum and explore.

The Saks Fifth Avenue Holiday Facade (2017)

It’s that time of the year again and it means presenting some of the awesome Christmas In NYC sights that I find while on my normal adventuring. Once again I was starting my night out with dear friends in honor of the holiday season and as I did last year I began my quest for some of the trees that were set up in the general vicinity. You’ll see those soon enough but now its time to enjoy the Saks Fifth Avenue facade presentation. For those just joining the website and in the unaware, this is an annual light show that is shot onto the Fifth Avenue facade of the famous department store. I had gotten here just in time and used my point and shoot Samsung to secure the visual. It’s only a few minutes long so please sit back and relax while the clip and music plays through.

As usual I hope that you have enjoyed this seasonal capture. With this years clip, I felt I was just a little too close to the street and that made my visual a little too tight for my liking. Last year I had wanted to be in or around this spot but still think that my little Samsung was too close. Please stay tuned for some additional Holiday fun for the season as my Christmas In NYC posts continue.

The Saks Fifth Avenue Holiday Facade (2016)

I was out with friends last week and after the holiday fun, went on some adventuring to finish my Christmas Tree hunting and to see if I could snag the always impressive display by Sak’s Fifth Avenue. Luckily, just as I had hit the corner the next presentation was set to begin so I shot from where I stood with the trusty Samsung point and shoot.

I hope that you liked it, I think next time I am going to try and get this a little more in the center of the area since some part of this were hard to see. Stay tuned for some additional Holiday fun for the season as my Christmas In NYC posts continue.

The Saks Fifth Avenue Holiday Facade (2013)

In addition to my now yearly Christmas in NYC presentations with the trees and the decorations that I see around, I stopped by the famous Sak’s Fifth Avenue Department store. They now have a whole big light display on the facade of the building on the side that overlooks Fifth Avenue. Its quite awesome and drivers might want to avoid this avenue during this time of the year to keep on moving. It’s such a pleasant offering that it is getting its own post when I manage to snare the complete show.

In case you are curious, I shot this video with the Panasonic Lumix. Yeah I am still using a real camera out there instead of solely using the mobile device. I dunno, for some things I prefer the camera to the phone. Maybe in a future year. Only time will tell. There is more to come from the 2013 Holidays so please stay tuned and thank you for spending a little time here on the Chronicles of PiercingKen, I’ve aimed to make this an interesting place for you with a wide variety of topics.

Have A Merry Christmas 2010 New York City :)

“It’s the most wonderful time of the year” la la la la la la laaaaaa! OK so let me get this out of the way right now. I am not going to get into the debate about whether one should say “Merry Christmas” or opt for “Happy Holidays” to avoid insulting or leaving out other cultures. I celebrate Christmas, as does all of my family so I say that. At the end of the day I mean no slight to my friends of other faiths and will gladly raise a glass of whatever is available for their own celebrations.

Santa Says Hello

Celebrating Christmas brings me to the rationale behind this blog posting.  Since I did a Halloween themed post and scared up a lot of spooky images over there I decided to try my hand at one of the other most decorated holidays that I knew of.  So without any further adieu please enjoy the bevy of photos that I will hope bring a little more of the holiday season in you.  I’ll start with the Wall Street “Holiday Tree”.  They call it that to be fair to everyone obviously.  Can’t have people picketing the Stock Exchange now can we.
