The Broadway League Extends Broadway’s Mask and Vaccination Policy To April 30

The Press Release:
The Broadway League announced today that the owners and operators of all 41 Broadway theatres in New York City are extending mask and vaccine requirements through April 30, 2022, along with the Buy With Confidence program which allows for flexible exchanges and refunds.

The theatres will also require full vaccinations for children ages 5 -11 years old for all performances beginning January 29, 2022 in accordance with New York City’s Key to NYC Guidelines.

“Mrs. Doubtfire” Musical Announces Hiatus Until March 2022

The last few weeks have not been kind to Broadway with the closure of performances such as “Diana The Musical”, “Waitress”, “Jagged Little Pill”, “Thoughts Of A Colored Man”, “Trevor The Musical” and most recently “Ain’t Too Proud”. Now “Diana The Musical” was being sunset before the virus surge but it was Omicron that found the likes of “Jagged” and “ATP” to wrap it up despite having open ended runs ahead of them. Earlier we learned the news that the comedy musical “Mrs Doubfire – The Musical” would be going on a nine week hiatus.

Producers Of Alanis Morissette’s “Jagged Little Pill” Announce Shows Closure

Over the last week or so, Broadway has been taking a hit thanks to the growing presence of the Omicron variant of the Covid-19 coronavirus. Day by day we were learning of performances of “Hamilton”, “Wicked”, “Harry Potter”, “Tina”, “Ain’t Too Proud” and “Jagged Little Pill” being shuttered until all was clear. Earlier this evening, the producers of “Jagged Little Pill” announced that this past Friday’s performance would be its last. Their official statement is below for your perusal.

The Broadway League Extends Vaccination Requirement To Children Under 12

The Press Release:
The Broadway League announced today that the owners and operators of all 41 Broadway theatres in New York City will now require vaccinations for children ages 5 -11 years old, effective December 14, 2021, in accordance with the new Key to NYC Guidelines.

Under the updated policy:

Children ages 5 – 11 may enter the theatre only when (1) accompanied by an adult who complies with the theatre’s vaccination entry requirements, and (2) has proof of at least one dose of an FDA or WHO approved vaccine.
