My longer tenured readers know that I have been attending the Book Expo America event at the Javits Center for a few years now but this year the 2016 event had moved to Chicago, IL and despite being informed that we could wander as press once again – the logistics were just not doable for me. There were just too many demands on my time right here in NYC to be travelling for a convention. I hated to miss it but was quite pleased when I saw this image on the main site for the BEA.
Yep, the Book Expo America is returning to NYC for the 2017 event and since its in tandem with the still growing Book Con, you can most likely expect that to be here as well. Sorry Chicago, this convention belongs to the Big Apple and you cannot have it. I’m going to mark this down on my schedule and vie for press credentials once again should my time permit my attendance. Sometimes its better than others for my outlets and I do enjoy attending and seeing familiar PR reps in person for a change. If you are a blogger that focuses on the written word then you should look into doing the same. Perhaps some of you newer readers would like to peruse the posts from the past years conventions and if you said “yes” to that, you can click on THIS LINK.
Hello there and welcome back. As I mentioned in the previous post, the coverage of this years Book Expo America was going to be presented right here on PiercingKen.com as opposed to my PiercingMetal.com since the exploring bore broader fruit. Starting off my visuals is the sign from the Press Office. The area itself is nice to have to sit down and collect some notes but I didn’t notice any coffee or snacks this time around which was a bit of a bummer.
One of the first things that I learned was happening today would be a signing of a preview by the legendary Richard Hell of a tome called “Massive Pissed Love”. Though I never personally followed his band The Voidoids during the heyday but of course know the seminal tune “Blank Generation” and how important it is to Rock history. Here are a few photos from that part of the morning.
Hello readers and welcome to my explorations at this years Book Expo America. Its also commonly referred to as BEA and for a few years has been taking place at the Javits Center where you find us for Comic Con, Photoplus Expo and Toy Fair. In the past I’ve documented these findings over on the PiercingMetal.com site in narratives that you can examine HERE but this time around I wanted to line it all out on the PiercingKen site. My reasons for doing this are simply based on their being a wider range of discoveries that fell outside of the normal offerings of the stuff I would focus on with my other site so sit back, enjoy that coffee and wander the halls of Javits with me.
Here’s what the Press Badge looks like for BEA and as you can see there is a QR Code that vendors and such will be scanning throughout the course of the expo. Its easier to add my outlet to mailing lists in this fashion to be honest. Here’s a couple of shots of the lobby floor before I headed inside the expo.
The Book Expo America or “BEA” for 2014 started the other day over at the Javits Center and I was happy to once again be a member of the press in attendance. The event spans three days and locks out the first two to professionals and press with the final day being open house for the general public. My coverage from across the two days that I was in attendance can be found on the PiercingMetal.com site and you can check out the presentation by clicking the logo directly below this paragraph. As has been my practice in the past, my main interests at this event are to focus on the film and comic book properties that my PiercingMetal readership enjoys along with any related music tomes. I hope you will join us over there by clicking through.
I’ve kept the chapters to about fifty images apiece as I have done in the past with the Comic Con and Toy Fair narratives to allow for the ease of enjoyment and maximum engagement of the folks being discussed. Since the coverage is on my other site, I have also disabled comments and pingbacks on this post but encourage they be left on those PiercingMetal narratives should you feel inclined to chime in. I’ll see you here again soon with more interesting and unique postings as they come to me.
Hey there my fine readers, I just wanted to take a moment of your time and share the news that I recently was in attendance at the Book Expo America convention for this year and have posted my coverage on the PiercingMetal.com site. New readers might not be aware of this but its a semi-regular practice of mine to showcase some of the diverse adventures on my main website right here with little traffic signs. That said, just click the logo below to be taken to my overview of that event. I went on a couple of days.
Comments are closed on this broadcast but if you attended BEA2013 and feel compelled to chime in with something you can do it on those posts. See you soon with more exciting images and narrative.
