BookCon Expands Adult Fiction Programming w Stellar Sci-Fi, Mystery & Thriller Authors

Hey there my dear readers, I am back once more with another Press Release about the ReedPOP event known as “BookCon”. I figured that with our covering the event on this website nowadays that sharing the notices about the upcoming convention was a good idea as well. There is a lot to digest here so grab a fresh cup of coffee and make sure the reading glasses are on if you need them. Here we go.

ReedPOP, the world’s leading producer of pop culture events, today unveiled an impressive lineup of bestselling Sci-Fi and Mystery & Thriller Authors joining BookCon 2018 as it continues to broaden the reach of the #1 consumer book event in the U.S. The lineup, which includes David Baldacci, Sandra Brown and Brad Meltzer among others, will give Fans unbelievable insight into these authors’ creative visions while celebrating the fiction they create through a variety of Panels, Autograph Signings, Workshops and Meet & Greets. BookCon 2018 will take place on June 2 and 3, 2018 at the Javits Center in New York City.

ReedPOP has tapped leading publisher Hachette Book Group to introduce a renowned roster of Mystery & Thriller authors including David Baldacci (End Game, The Fix), Sandra Brown (Seeing Red, Sting), Walter Mosley (Down the River Unto the Sea, Charcoal Joe) and Brad Meltzer (The Escape Artist, The House of Secrets). These luminaries of the mystery world will be joined by moderator Megan Abbott, author of You Will Know Me and writer for HBO’s The Deuce, to discuss the keys to writing a truly thrilling thriller, transforming their characters from page to screen, what it’s like to spend so much time thinking about murder, and much more. Additional Mystery & Thriller authors will sit on two separate Panels that focus on up-and-coming authors and female writers.

Additionally, Science Fiction & Fantasy lovers will have the opportunity to attend Panels and Autograph Signings with popular authors Charlie Jane Anders (All the Birds in the Sky, The City in the Middle of the Night), Seth Dickinson (The Traitor Baru Cormorant), S.L. Huang (Zero Sum Game), and V.E. Schwab (Shades of Magic series).

Reedpop Announces Bookcon’s Fifth Edition With An Initial All-Star Lineup

Yesterday we received the first press release from the folks handling the affairs for the 2018 Book Con, which is an event that we have attended a few times over the recent years. In hopes to raise awareness among those who are reading this website, I’m sharing said release with you and hope to do more as they come in to the Creative Command HQ.

ReedPOP, the world’s leading producer of pop culture events, today unveiled the initial lineup of Authors joining BookCon 2018. Celebrating its fifth edition, the groundbreaking consumer book event will take place on June 2 & 3, 2018 at the Javits Center in New York City. Headlined by bestselling Authors and the world’s hottest Hollywood talent, BookCon brings storytelling to life through a series of Panels, Screenings, Author Q&As, Autographing sessions and more. This year’s BookCon also introduces interactive content including four writing workshops produced in conjunction with Sarah Lawrence College, writing contests and more. Tickets for BookCon 2018 will go on sale November 15 at 12:00 PM EST.

Hollywood stars will once again take the BookCon stage, with actor and singer Taye Diggs (Rent, Empire) joining the lineup with his best friend Shane Evans to promote their upcoming children’s picture book, I Love You More. Social Media star Zach King will showcase his middle grade novel Zach King: The Magical Mix-Up, and Diane Guerrero (Orange is the New Black, Jane the Virgin) will take the stage to discuss My Family Divided, a middle-grade nonfiction work about her experiences as the child of undocumented immigrants.

The initial Guest list for BookCon also includes bestselling Author Angie Thomas, whose debut novel The Hate U Give has spent over 30 weeks on the New York Times’ YA Bestsellers List and will soon be adapted into a feature film starring Amandla Stenberg (Everything, Everything). Young Adult favorites have joined the lineup as well, including Victoria Aveyard to talk about the latest Red Queen novel War Storm, Leigh Bardugo (Six of Crows, The Language of Thorns) who will be promoting her upcoming novel King of Scars, Kami Garcia to showcase her new book Broken Beautiful Hearts, Jason Reynolds to discuss Long Way Down, and Marissa Meyer who will be onsite previewing the first book in her much-anticipated superhero series, Renegades. This is only the beginning of the lineup for BookCon 2018 and ReedPOP will continue to add and announce Guests and content up until the Show.

This Just In: ReedPOP To Debut BookCon at NY Comic Con 2016

It’s very rare for me to repeat myself (well, in blog posts as opposed to casual conversation) but in this case it was very necessary since the news related to both the NY Comic Con and the Book Con events. It seems as though this year, the massive event will also have a space where Book Con will be held and you can read the whole shebang right below.
