The Toy Foundation Announces 2025 “Toy of the Year” (TOTY) Award Finalists

From a doll hidden behind a magic mirror to a sound-sensing robot, to dozens of toys that innovate beloved play patterns, the 2025 Toy of the Year® (TOTY®) Award finalists, announced today by The Toy Foundation™ (TTF), represent the most sought-out toys just in time for the holiday season. Known as the “Oscars of the toy industry,” the TOTY Awards celebrate the creativity of the global toy community and serves as a key fundraiser for TTF’s year-round philanthropic work supporting children in need.

Between now and January 10, 2025, play-lovers of all ages can visit ToyAwards.org to vote for their favorite playthings in each of the 16 categories, browse toys, and make shopping lists for the holidays. Finalists were announced this morning by a group of well-known content creators who serve as TOTY ambassadors. See the full list of finalists below.

Winners in each category, as well as the coveted overall Toy of the Year winner and the People’s Choice winner (based solely on consumer votes), will be announced at the TOTY Awards gala on Friday, February 28, 2025, at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City. The celebration kicks off Toy Fair® 2025 (March 1-4, 2025) and includes the induction of seven trailblazers into the esteemed Toy Industry Hall of Fame.

Shoppe Object Announces Move To Starrett-Lehigh Building

After six successful years at Pier 36 and the addition of Skylight at Essex Crossing, Shoppe Object has grown into its next chapter and will be bringing the show back under one roof in the magnificent Starrett-Lehigh Building in West Chelsea, marking a new era for the celebrated event.

Shoppe Object will occupy a 195,000-square-foot, avenue-to-avenue, Art Deco loft on the 3rd and 4th floors within this iconic venue. The new space will feature a continuous expanse of windows with stunning Hudson River views and an abundance of natural light, a private entrance, excellent on-site food and drink options, as well as access to an outdoor terrace on the building’s 10th floor for events and gatherings. This location will offer all the comforts and amenities that will ensure attendees and exhibitors have the extraordinary experience for which Shoppe Object has become known. With a 30% increase in space from past shows, the venue will provide ample room for an expanded array of exhibitors and an enhanced experience for attendees.

Salon du Chocolat NYC Rescheduled To March 2025

In light of various factors, the decision has been made to postpone Salon du Chocolat NYC until March 21-23, 2025, at the Javits Center.

“This decision was made to ensure we deliver the exceptional and immersive experience that Salon du Chocolat NYC is known for,” said Sharona Sandberg, Salon du Chocolat NYC Show Manager. “The additional time will allow us to fully achieve this vision and create a chocolate-filled event that everyone will remember.”

Ticket Information: All tickets purchased for the original dates will be automatically valid for the new March 2025 dates.
All current ticketholders will receive an email with further information regarding next steps, including how to refund your ticket(s) if the new dates are not suitable.

Brookfield Place Announces “Canstruction New York 2024”

Canstruction returns to Brookfield Place! The beloved annual design competition challenges teams of architects, engineers, and contractors to build sculptures made entirely out of unopened cans of food. The large-scale sculptures are displayed in an exhibition open to the public and later donated to City Harvest to help feed those in need. This year, we’re giving you more ways to engage with and learn about Canstruction, including a live build, tours, and fun activities for youngsters.
