Hello my friends and welcome back to another exciting adventure here on “The Chronicles”. The summer was here in full sway and while its getting hot, the special events and happenings are even hotter. One such event that we have recently enjoyed is the “Sweet Suite” that is curated by our friends over at The Toy Insider. Longer tenured site readers know about them already but the newbies might need a tad bit of education about them.
The Toy Insider is a collective of industry experts that examine and share the findings about the hottest toys and games that are hitting the shelves and the “Sweet Suite” event is where they bring in the companies behind these items and put them face to face with those YouTube personalities, Social Media Influencers and members of the media (that’s us). The event was once again held at Pier 60 down in the Chelsea Piers area and when you walked in there was this awesome Statue of Liberty greeting you. This was made with a 3D printer to my knowledge.
This ballroom maze was also at the entrance for those who chose to brave it. I did but sadly there is no video of me doing it although I did shoot a clip of the whole thing from the pathway you see to the right in this image. It was really cool.
Deep inside the maze of ballroom. I dragged another media with me since well, I do stuff like that.
The other side of the maze once I made my egress. I told the rep outside that they were lucky I didn’t have any spikes on today as the maze would have suffered greatly.
When I was growing up, one of my favorite things was the action figures and sometimes the collector in me likes to snag something that I think is cool. Here is a glimpse of the Playmates Toys “Ben 10” collection. If you love heroes and villains, you will get your fill here.
It was nice to see our friends at McFarlane Toys at the “Sweet Suite”. We see them every year at Toy Fair and they always have something awesome to offer collectors.
We met the folks at Play Monster a couple of years ago and they really have some fun games for the younger members of your family circle. This game with marbles and a few Yeti, reminded me a little of the “Hungry Hungry Hippos” game that I grew up with.
Do you not love Hexbug or do you love Hexbug? They are always offering up some innovative stuff and these creations below are great for the younger members of the family. Super cute too.
That brings me to the end of this chapter but don’t worry I will return soon with more from this event. While you wait, I encourage you to click on the websites that are listed below so you can see what else these amazing providers have coming down the pike. For additional viewpoints, images and updates from the field as we experience them, please follow “The Chronicles Of Piercing Ken” on the popular social networks of Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. We’d love to have you along for the ride.
