Hey there theatregoers and welcome to my second installment from the 2022 edition of “BroadwayCon”. As mentioned, this is a convention that celebrates and specializes in all things Broadway and I guess you can consider this the Comic Con of Broadway Theatre. Today I’m continuing along with the rest of the photos shot on the first and second days. As you read this the event is on its third and final day but we are unable to return based on other agenda items. Let’s start off by showcasing the Rediscover Handbags products. Really nice stuff.
It was nice to see The Phantom out and about and not holed up in some musty opera house.
If you are a collector of Playbills and sheet music, this is the place to find a whole lot of it.
They did have a handy map which I wasn’t following at all. As mentioned some of this years convention was up on the 7th Floor Grand Ballroom and other things around the corner at the New Yorker Hotel.
Here’s the creative team behind “Goosebumps The Musical” based on the work of the legendary R.L. Stine.
This is something right out of the Marvel Team-Up comics, Mr. Hyde meets Beetlejuice.
After some chat with Kevin Tuerff I just had to get a photo with him.
“Phone rings, door chimes, in comes company” – This girl was celebrating all things “Company” at BroadwayCon. I am not sure it was her birthday as much as that of the character Bobby.
There were not as many cosplayers of “Six” this time around which surprised me.
Custom Broadway had a lot of nice stuff.
The phenomenal Joshua Turchin was belting out number after number.
This is Katherine Lynnrose who is I am told a very popular TikTokker in addition to an up and coming Broadway talent.
This is Tori Vagasy who many might remember from being a contestant on “America’s Got Talent”.
These three buttons were available to help people clarify their stand on being approached or fist bumped etc. Green is sure go ahead, yellow more of a proceed with caution and Red being hey you stay over there. I wanted to put all three on my vest and point to the proper one based on who was in front of me but I wasn’t sure how that kind of humor would go over.
The mantra of “Broadway Is Back” was on everyone’s lips and after so much time hustling and bustling to keep patrons and performers safe I think we are in a better place.
That’s going to wrap up this years coverage of the BroadwayCon, I really hope that you enjoyed it all. Now before I go, please know that in addition to these two chapters and all the assorted Instagram posts that I recorded about a dozen video pieces in the Marketplace that will be premiering on our Official YouTube Channel in the coming days. You can follow along with all the important stuff by using these links to the Social Media profiles of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube. We’d love to have you along with us whenever possible. See you next time.
