Hey there my friends, we are here once more to share news about an exciting movie opening. We’ve talked about this one already with the trailer posting but today is the day that “The Grinch” opens in theaters everywhere. This is the third telling of the time honored story featuring the beloved Dr. Seuss character who just wants a little peace and quiet on Christmas and how he hopes to get it. The poster, brief premise and voice casting for this computer animated feature are below. Dig in.
The Premise:
The Grinch hatches a scheme with his trusted canine Max to ruin Christmas when the residents of Whoville plan to make their annual holiday three times bigger that year. Meanwhile, Cindy Lou Who plans to seek out Santa Claus to thank him for helping her widowed mother every Christmas, but little does she know she is trying to blow the Grinch’s cover.
Voice Cast:
Benedict Cumberbatch as The Grinch
Cameron Seely as Cindy Lou Who
Rashida Jones as Donna Lou Who
Kenan Thompson as Bricklebaum
Angela Lansbury as Mayor McGerkle
Tristan O’Hare as Groopert
Ramone Hamilton as Axl
Sam Lavagnino as Ozzy
Scarlett Estevez as Izzy
Pharrell Williams as the Narrator
Piercing Ken Thoughts: As I’ve already said, this does look cute but with these kinds of films I usually wait until they hit Netflix or one of the premium channels that I am paying far too much for. Back in September, I did see a whole line of cool kids toys at the TTPM event by the fine folks at Just Play so with the holidays heading right for us you are going to want to start shopping. Closing up I wonder if you will be seeing this film early in the theatrical run. You can tell me down in the comments but remember, no spoilers to the overall flow of the film (even though most of us know the general story). See you next time.
