Thanks to this brand-new Disney film “Mulan”, our Pop Culture narratives have received quite the uptick since there have been numerous trailers and look at this scene from the film clips along with a healthy batch of promotional posters. Since I don’t want you to go into this one unaware, you can peruse all of the other “Mulan” posts on The Chronicles by clicking HERE. Today, the film premieres on the Disney+ streaming service but on their Premium Access side of the fence. It will run you about $30 for the film. This is new for them and seems to be the best response to the pandemic changes. Lets’s overview the Official Poster, premise and casting before some closing editorial from me.
The Plot: When the Emperor of China issues a decree that one man per family must serve in the Imperial Army to defend the country from Northern invaders attacking China, Hua Mulan, the eldest daughter of an honored warrior, steps in to take the place of her ailing father. She is spirited, determined and quick on her feet. Masquerading as a man, Hua Jun, she is tested every step of the way and must harness her inner-strength and embrace her true potential. It is an epic journey that will transform her into not only an honored warrior, but one of China’s greatest warriors ever and earn her the respect of a grateful nation…and a proud father.

Piercing Ken Thoughts: When it was announced that “Mulan” would go to Disney+ I was considering watching it but when they said you had to pay a premium price to enjoy it I decided to pass. I’m the only one in this household so paying $30 to see this on the day of release or the usual opening weekend is a bust for me. Perhaps if there was a whole cadre of family here with me I would think differently. It does look beautifully shot and when it’s on the regular service that I am paying for each month I will watch it then. What about you readers? Are you planning on plunking down the bucks to see this immediately? Chime in down below in the comments section and I will see you next time around.
