According to what I’ve read, “The Irishman” is the next American crime film that has been produced and directed by Martin Scorsese. The story was written by Steven Zaillian and is based on a 2004 non-fiction book called “I Heard You Paint Houses” which was written by Charles Brandt. The first trailer for this film is below so check it out and know I will return with more information at the close.
The Premise: The Irishman is the story of Frank Sheeran, a mob hitman and World War II vet who develops his skills during his service in Italy. Now an old man, he reflects on the events that defined his career as a hitman, particularly the role he played in the disappearance of labor leader Jimmy Hoffa, his longtime friend, and his involvement with the Bufalino crime family.

Piercing Ken Thoughts: While I don’t normally chime in much on teaser trailers, I wanted to for this one since come on, Scorsese…. So what’s interesting about this film is that after its premiere at this years NY Film Festival, it will open in theaters for a limited run. After this brief stint it will be streaming on Netflix until they say it isn’t anymore. Pretty cool right? I think it is because after some of the recent awards shows and all the wins that Netflix took home for its programming, I think that we shall be seeing much more of this kind of thing. On yeah and before I forget to actually discuss the trailer this did look interesting. The cast alone compels me so let me close with that viewpoint. What about you fine readers? What do you think of it. Feel free to chime in down below with your thoughts. See you soon.
