Hello my friends and let me begin this one by asking how the summer has been treating you. So far it’s not been too super hot but as you know, its still only the tail end of June and July and August are often finding us seeking shelter from the heat. I’m just back from visiting my family down South and am catching up with as much of the second day of the Specialty Food Organization’s “Summer Fancy Food Show” as is possible. This is my third year attending as a member of the press and its a treat to share some delicious finds with the readers of this lifestyle website. Let’s get moving. I will chime in as needed as the narrative plays along.
As you might expect, we’ve got to get the press credentials to explore the floor. They also give you a special tote that allows you to safely transport some samples if you are given them.
Our friends Ann and Janet Chung from “We Rub You”. This is a spicy Korean marinade. It tastes great and for me the spicier the better.
Here at the Creative Command HQ of “The Chronicles” we love a good hot dog and these Feltman’s ones were AWESOME. I could have stayed at their booth for an hour doing some taste-testing. Historically speaking, they predated the Nathan’s Famous brand.
So you probably know that we are based on Brooklyn and Brooklyn means “bagels”. I so love the stuff and usually go to our local store for a batch every few weeks. I freeze them. Packaged bagels seldom interest me but I will say that these were delish.
That’s going to bring me to the end of this first installment but don’t you worry there is more to enjoy for sure. With my late arriving flight I didn’t get as much done today as I would have liked but tomorrow I am heading here as early as possible.
