Greetings my friends and welcome to my visual overview of the Toy Insider’s “Holiday Of Play” event. You might recall that we last were in the company of these folks during their summertime “Sweet Suite” and since a whole bunch of things you will not see here were presented please click HERE to see that full overview.
For the past few years, The “Holiday Of Play” had been held at the Manhattan Penthouse over on 14th Street and it was a very nice event space but I think as things that the Toy Insider grew bigger and bigger that a new location was deemed necessary. This year the event had moved to a space called “Current” which is close to the space used for “Sweet Suite” at the Chelsea Piers.
After admiring the super awesome Christmas Tree made up of Leap Frog items, it was time to get the Toy Insider Holiday Gift Guide and a bag in case you ended up securing any samples for yourself.
Our friends at Just Play Products start us off with the presentation of all the awesome and you likely remember them from our other Toy Insider narratives. Historically speaking, we’ve never managed to get to see them during the annual Toy Fair based on all of the other appointments that we’ve locked in.
I really loved the idea of these Scruff-a-Luvs by Moose Toys. So I’m a cat daddy and my beloved feline is the offspring of a cat that I rescued many years ago. Sadly, she went off to the Rainbow Bridge in 2015 but her no longer baby cat is still with me and hit 17 years this year.
The fact that Moose Toys uses some of the money made on these for local animal rescue efforts is amazing. Good job MT.
You know that you’re making some media progress when your friends tell you that they bought not one, but two game systems from Arcade1Up. Sadly I don’t have the space for this kind of thing but its on my eventual list along with a KISS pinball machine.
Today’s event would be the first time that I’ve encountered the Geomag company and their provisions were just wonderful. Creative and forward thinking stuff that will find the younger member of your family circle very entertained. Hey who knows, maybe they should make something for adults for us to keep at our desks to relieve that office tension. Food for thought Geomag?
The fine folks at Crayola always seem to have a presence at Toy Insider events and that makes sense since they are constantly pushing the envelope with quality products. It’s almost enough to make an older cat like me jealous based on the notion that all we had were a box of crayons and some coloring books.
What do I need to say about LEGO that you don’t know already? We saw some of these items at the Sweet Suite as you might recall.
Let’s stop here and pick up with some more on the morrow. As I’ve pointed out, the Holiday Of Play event is to showcase the Toy Insider’s top picks for the holidays so there is a lot less than one sees at the “Sweet Suite”. Some great items for sure and things that will have you reaching for the credit card and opening up your Amazon profile (remember to use Amazon via our home page since you help our affiliate program by doing so). that very much. Thanks very much to the folks at Toy Insider and Pop Insider for inviting us to this event and their media facilitators for making it so easy to get the work done. As I’ve mentioned, the Toy Insider also has a holiday event called “Holiday Of Play” which is much more specialized and I hope to participate in that one as well. If I do you can count on posts here on the website as well as lots of activity on the social networks that we use here on “The Chronicles” on a daily basis.
