Hello again my friends, its nice to have you returning for the continuing exploration of the 2018 Book Expo. This massive publishing industry event was once again taking over the Javits Center for a few days and we are on point to show you what is going on with some of our favorite publishers and to see what might be a brand-new discovery. If you missed the previous chapter please click HERE to bring up the stuff so far presented and with that being done I will continue along with these cool Marvel and Star Wars books for kids by Disney.
Back to the Apples and Honey Press booth where Barry Joseph was signing copies of his book “Seltzertopia”.
This is “Notabag” – Its a couple of things as you can see.
This fun book brings a space theme to the alphabet and was done by retired astronaut Clayton Anderson.
I couldn’t resist getting a photo with such a figure because he is the only person I’ve ever met who has been to space. Sure you’d think some of the music people I’ve encountered have come from there but Clayton was really there ;p
The folks from Housing Works are always nice to see. I’ve donated items to their charitable organization if they could use them so look them up via the link at the close if you have items that you can part with. Books, video games, toys.
Artist Akihiro Nishino had a small display going on but I didn’t delve too deeply into it based on time.
All of these items were a part of the Little Poland Gallery booth along with the lovely Aleksandra.
They had a Librarian Lounge for the librarians visiting were able to sit and go over notes with each other. I thought that this was a nice inclusion.
This is author C. Toni Graham and her book “Crossroads”.
This section is for the books by L. Ron Hubbard.
The other day was my birthday and I didn’t make much of a big deal of it but was saddened that I didn’t have cake. When I saw one of the booths giving this tasty treat out I mentioned that my day had just passed and she smiled and said “Happy Birthday”. That was fine by me and the cake was so good and hit the spot as I left the convention for the day.
I’ll wrap things up for the moment with this batch of images and notes and be back tomorrow with the final batch of findings so please stay tuned. While you wait, I hope that you will click through to some of the websites that are linked below so you can learn more about the people and companies that were featured in this chapter. As you know, its during events like this one that we are VERY active on our social networks so you’re going to want to come on over to our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter
