I’ve been wanted to try the recently opened Burgerfi restaurant in my Bay Ridge neighborhood since I first saw it but like most plans, they got shifted to the wayside until the other day. Now the time had come and I would finally get to sample their offerings.
Once you place your order, you get one of these little buzzer devices to let you know when your meal is ready. I chuckled at this because the place isn’t really that big so just shouting “number five” is not out of order. Oh well.
Behold my order. I kept it as simple as possible for the first ever visit. That’s a bacon cheeseburger and fries of course and no you are not imagining things, there is indeed a brand on my bun. That’s new.
Just a couple of shots of the menus up above.
They had these little activity kits for the younger patrons with some pages to color and a small packet of crayons. I love the idea of this to be quite honest.
Though I also had a root beer soda with the meal I didn’t snap a photo of that. I should have since they have these awesome machines that dispense the stuff. I did however snap a photo of the small cup of custard that they were handing out for free today since they had so much on hand. That was nice.
If you are one of those people (like myself) who loves the reward cards, then I am happy to share that Burgerfi has one of their own. The downside of their program is that my whole purchase of over $15 didn’t count on this card yet which made no sense since it seemed to be an easy transaction. I was instead told to call the company and give the receipt number or email someone. I did all of that and got nowhere so I lost a bunch of points which is an immediate strike. Don’t judge my fussiness on this but these things are supposed to enhance the experience and offer convenience. Chasing a number or email to prove my purchase is not fun to do.
So that’s that. Overall I liked the experience and found the place nice and clean and the food tasty. One cannot compare this to the McDonald’s or Burger King offerings since they are not only made differently but also bear a wide difference in pricing. This was a hefty tag for a burger, fries and drink at almost $15 dollars and I’d have to say that the direct competition for this outlet would be the nearby Five Guys Burgers and Fries. They seem comparable in price and if I had to choose between the two I’d probably say Burgerfi at this point. Based on the pricing however I’d also say that I prefer to go to the local diner for a burger if I was asked to choose.
Be sure to visit this place soon and add your notes to a Yelp or Foodspotting account like I do.
