Scenes From The 150th Annual Memorial Day Parade (5/29/2017)

Today is Memorial Day and that means its time for the annual Bay Ridge, Brooklyn Memorial Day Parade. This year while a special one as it was the 150th of its kind, did not have the weather on its side and would be rather rainy throughout the course of the event. That was not going to stop me from snapping photographs for readers of the blog to enjoy and I will begin as usual with the video of The Rolling Thunder passing through. There didn’t seem like there was many of them today and I guess with other parades taking place that they had to split them up. Enjoy.

Now it was time to begin the marching and from here on its just going to be the photos to entertain you. With a lot of friends and family not living in the immediate area anymore, I feel this brings a little bit of home to where they live now. Enjoy.

Walgreen’s Introduces “Wonder Woman” Makeup Set

So the Warner Brothers film “Wonder Woman” opened up about two weeks ago and it’s been doing gangbusters in the theater which is very cool to see based on the three previous installments in the DC Extended Universe. I’ve discussed a lot about the film over on PiercingMetal.com but that is not why I am here today. Today I am here to let you know that while shopping for sundry items at my local Duane Reade, I passed a shelf with “Wonder Woman” makeup on it. This is a Walgreen’s exclusive product and they own the Duane Reade franchise in full. Take a look at this stuff if you have a little Wonder Woman in your world. I thought it was a cute idea and just had to share it with you.

Happy Easter My Dear Readers

We just wanted to take a moment and wish all of our readers a very “Happy Easter” today if they are celebrating. It’s our holiday too for those curious and I am getting ready for the usual practice of morning mass and then some time with family. If this is your celebration we hope that you enjoy the day as well. Of course to our esteemed readers that are still celebrating the Passover holiday we hope that has been wonderful for you.

I didn’t post a lot of images this time around, that happens on occasion. Until next time.

Happy 15th Birthday To My Cat Spooke (3/24/2017)

I’d like to take a moment and say that today is pretty awesome for me since its the 15th birthday of my sweet black cat Spooke who was born in my old apartment on this very day. I’ve had her since her birth and she is quite the important part of my world. I like to think that she is pretty spoiled every day but today she is going to get a little more of that since she is a very good and loving pet.

She was enjoying some lounging on my pants as you can see in the photo but I was trying to get her attention for the necessary photo and to show her one of the gifts that I picked up for her to celebrate the day a little better.

Happy Saint Patrick’s Day 2017

Today is Saint Patrick’s Day and I apologize for not really having a whole ton of photos representing the green but I actually didn’t see all that many in my travels and have been busy working on some of the other ideas that I have for the website. I did find the sign at the local Bridgeview Diner interesting as it lauded “Saint Patrick’s Week”. My guess is the upcoming parade that I usually feature here for you out of towners is the rationale behind that. I always enjoy that parade and will hopefully be there on Sunday 3/26 when it happens. Stay tuned.

So I was in the diner to get myself an order of the corned beef and cabbage dinner. I love the stuff and its a tradition that I try to keep up with every year. I’ve never tried to cook this for myself though since I don’t actually think I am patient enough but maybe the next time around I will give it a go. The order came with an ample supply of the corned beef, the cabbage, two potato wedges and two carrot pieces. The whole thing is NOT pictured in the photo. I had the rest a little while after finishing the first plate. They provided a couple of slices of rye bread but honestly they should have prepared some traditional soda bread instead. That makes more sense to me. I also had a bowl of their split pea soup that came with it but that is not pictured. There you have it.
