Stuff that we have found of interest in NYC and wanted to share with you all.

“Greetings From Brooklyn”

Today is Earth Day, and while I would have loved to share a photo of the whole planet with my wonderful readers, I had to settle on that little place I call home New York City. The photo you see below was shot by me yesterday as I stood on the bank of the East River in the aptly named “East River Park”.

It was a beautiful day here in NYC and I was at the 1st Annual Hot Sauce Expo and just could not resist sharing a quick visual of our Big Apple with all of you. I shot this with the Droid phone and uploaded it to Facebook, so some of my first viewers saw it there. If you get over to these parts during the last few weeks of Spring or in the Summer, so take a wander here and snap your own shot. You will not regret doing so. Obviously the photo shows some of the East River, the Empire State Building and to your right a tiny bit of the Chrysler Building. Happy Earth Day my friends. Treat her and each other with kindness. We’ve only so much time to spend together after all. Oh yeah and if you’d like to see that Hot Sauce Expo that I said I was attending you can click HERE for that article. It’s over on my PiercingMetal site.

A Friendly Thought From A Times Square Hotspot

b.b. king blues club

Before you read any more of this post, I want to admit to you that I have already used this photo over on my PiercingMetal site but it was too cool in my humble opinion and hence my rational in sharing it here with all of you readers of the PiercingKen blogsite. I took it the other day while in the city for an appointment at a brand new venue called Stage 48. I was doing a walk-through with my trusty colleague Skeleton Pete and as we walked down 42nd Street there it was.

Folks who read this blog only might not be aware that I have been to the B.B. King Blues Club and Grill over 200 times over the past eight years and for each of those times I was covering some kind of show for the website. I like to consider myself an advocate of the live music scene and that is why I keep a comprehensive calendar over on my main music reporting site. You can access that calendar by clicking the photo above and please do feel free to share that resource if you like what you see. If you’d like to see the coverage from those 200 plus shows you can click HERE. I can only imagine that this listing will get bigger and bigger as we aim to the future. Alright, time to get back to the normal writings and planning. Like the venue said “Have A Nice Day” 🙂

Merry Christmas 2012 NYC!!!

Welcome to the 2012 edition of my now annual presentation of some of the holiday images that I had observed while wandering around NYC over the course of the last few weeks. For ease of the posting they are all named with the Christmas Day date, but I took all of them at various times over the month of December. I hope you don’t mind, so here we go and “Merry Christmas” to you all 🙂

A Quick Glimpse Of The Old St. Patrick’s Cathedral In NYC

I was down in the Village and heading to a venue for yet another rocking show and while on my way there I passed the Old St. Patrick’s Cathedral down on Prince and Mott Street. I had a few minutes so popped inside to take a look around and they didn’t mind my taking some photos so I did. This visit was super quick so there aren’t a lot of images to peruse but at least its here for you residents to observe and even those friends from out of town who are marking down items of interest to visit when they get here. Enjoy.
