Piercing Ken Thoughts: I’ll keep my editorial soapboxing to a minimum on this since its our first time doing this sort of news here on “The Chronicles”. I did like seeing some of the actors we find in the Marvel Studios releases being given stars on the famed walk since those are the films that we tend to enjoy the most. I’ve not been to Hollywood in more than 20 years at the time of this writing and feel I need to get back and so some kind of feature about the sights and scenes to be found. This is the kind of fun news that helps one forget about just how bad it is out there right now thanks to the pandemic which is now in its third full month. I don’t know about your neck of the woods but I am already tired of the President, Governor and Mayor being a part of my daily television saying not much at all but let me not get political here since I am here to entertain and distract. What do you readers think about this news and the honored? Who would you like to see given a star on the famous walkway? Chime in down below as I’d love to hear from you. I am starting to get stir crazy from the lack of activity but let’s hope we are in a better place come September. See you again soon and please be careful out there.

The Press Release:
With the ongoing suspension of Broadway performances due to COVID-19 continuing until further notice, the Broadway League is updating information regarding performance cancellations and ticketing protocol. While a date to resume performances is yet to be determined, Broadway theatres are now offering refunds and exchanges for tickets purchased for performances through September 6, 2020.

“While all Broadway shows would love to resume performances as soon as possible, we need to ensure the health and well-being of everyone who comes to the theatre – behind the curtain and in front of it – before shows can return. The Broadway League’s membership is working in cooperation with the theatrical unions, government officials, and health experts to determine the safest ways to restart our industry,” said Charlotte St. Martin, President of the Broadway League. “Throughout this challenging time, we have been in close communication with Governor Cuomo’s office and are grateful for his support and leadership as we work together to bring back this vital part of New York City’s economy – and spirit.”

shorty awards logo

Hey there my friends, so I am back once more with the topic being “The Shorty Awards” and as you well know, the world is a VERY different place at the moment due to the continuing issues and problems surrounding the Coronavirus. These awards were supposed to be given out at the now shuttered Playstation Theater (which I might add was a venue we loved to visit for PiercingMetal.com stuff) and with large gatherings being forbidden right now they were dished out via a streaming. This marks the first year I’m adding this awards show to my batch of related content so before I share the winners with you here is a little more about what these honors are for.

“The Shorty Awards, also known as the “Shortys”, is an annual awards show recognizing the people and organizations that produce real-time short form content across Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Twitch and the rest of the social web”.
