The Press Release:
Affordable Art Fair will return to New York City for its spring 2023 edition, welcoming over 70 local, national, and international galleries. The fair takes place from March 22nd through March 26th at the Metropolitan Pavilion.

The Affordable Art Fair has a long history across the globe of acting as a critical entry point for curious art-goers and new collectors seeking access to the contemporary art market. This year, the fair has expanded its price-cap to $12,000 which accommodates for the growth and maturation of artists’ markets after repeat exposure to collectors both at Affordable Art Fair and beyond.

This year’s fair programming will welcome back highlights including the Private View opening on Wednesday evening, Art After Dark programming on Thursday evening, and Free Fridays. The fair will also present its acclaimed Young Talent Exhibition, a special program curated by Arts Gowanus director Johnny Thornton which showcases emerging artistic talent from Brooklyn and the Greater New York Metro area. The fair’s Fellowship Program, which was piloted at the fall 2022 edition, will also continue its support of Brooklyn’s Established Gallery. This program is poised to grow over the next fair editions, welcoming a second and ultimately third Fellowship gallery participant by spring of 2024. The Curatorial Excellence Award also celebrates its 6th year at the spring fair.

Over the past year, the Affordable Art Fair New York has sought to reintroduce itself as a fair that promotes accessibility for both its collectors and its exhibitors. The fair provides a platform for galleries, artist-run projects, digital art platforms, among other gallery formats to exhibit, to market their stable of artists, and to cultivate meaningful relationships with collectors and arts enthusiasts in a way that fosters long-term relationships and encourages collecting. Further, through educational resources and tools — including partnerships with arts companies like Art Money — Affordable Art Fair New York commits itself to making art affordable and accessible to a broad collectorship. As the Affordable Art Fair continues to grow and distinguish itself within the New York arts ecosystem, it is with pleasure that we welcome new exhibitors and continue to grow the footprint of the fair.

These efforts have garnered the participation of 7 new exhibitors joining the Affordable Art Fair for the first time, among them: Arbor3 Arts, Philippe Labaune Gallery, Anne-Céline Grandury Art, and See|Me.

Piercing Ken Thoughts: With such a lengthy list I won’t add too much more to the mix other than that I have always enjoyed my explorations at the AAF. I’ve been a few times over the last couple of years and have even done some one-on-one interview clips with artists at their booths. If I attend this upcoming show I’ll try to do some more and if you’ve interest in the ones that have been posted to our Official YouTube so far just click HERE for the Full Playlist. I’d love it if you could give that Channel a subscribe as well while you are there. So wrapping this one up I wonder what you think about it all. Will you be in attendance or is art just not your thing. I’m an art lover but not in the way that one can purchase such things. Don’t have the budget but one can always dream right? Chime in down below and I will see you next time around. Please stay safe out there and stay warm as the forecast for our metropolis is super duper cold. Ciao.
