Readers of our adventures here on “The Chronicles” and even those who are over on the PiercingMetal side of the fence know that we always love exploring the amazing conventions and trade shows that happen in our metropolis. During this time of the year I am exploring the aisles of the Book Expo which takes over the main expo floor of the Javits Center but this year I noticed that the International Franchise Expo was taking place in the downstairs event space so I asked about the media opportunities at the registration desk and found myself with a press badge to explore the aisles.
As I had some people to see before the Book Expo ended I would need to return tomorrow for its last day. There were some good smells wafting out into the lobby area so I am thinking there are a few food franchises to examine. My plan is to snap images for the Official Instagram as well so remember to hit that.
Dogtopia had a presence at the expo as you can see.
We are here at the last day of the IFE and it was time to explore some franchises and to sample some wares. My first stop would be the Philly Pretzel Factory truck. This is a perfect treat and something I always enjoy at concerts, festivals and the occasional sporting event.
Papaya King is a favorite place for me to stop for a late night snack after a show if we are near one of the locations. I was happy to add them to this running narrative and enjoy some tasty samples.
The young lady from the School Of Rock was ready to showcase her skills on the guitar as she was a student of the popular program. However the drums were for display only so I couldn’t join her despite my wanting to.
Ice-cold German beer on a hot summer afternoon? Sign me up.
They also had pretzels at the Hoffbrau Munchen booth with a sensational spicy mustard.
One thing I am enjoying about this expo is that its upgrading the amount of “foodie” photos on my Instagram. I’ll link to that later on in the narrative don’t worry.
There was a massive line to get a cup of frozen yogurt at the Reis and Irvy’s booth.
These lovely ladies were repping the popular Hooters restaurant chain.
There was a truck from Cuban Eddie’s and they were serving up a small Cuban sandwich and an empanada. Good eats and a nice snack to keep you sated while walking up and down all the aisles. After I was done here I was planning to return to the Book Expo because it was their last day as well.
I was happy to learn of this franchise since eye care is very important. Sadly there was no one monitoring the booth at the time when I passed or I would have done some of the tests. I recommend that all of our readers get their eyes checked at least once a year if they can. I’ve been making sure to do that myself because I stare at a computer screen most of the day.
Here’s some of the new friends that we made for “The Chronicles of Piercing Ken”. Very nice people and I wish them all success with the franchises they are involved in.
Closing up I’ve got to say that this one was great fun and loaded with some very nice people and some amazing franchises. If I had enough disposable cash I’d probably look into something along these lines because though a lot of work, its a great chance to make some money and bring people something they like. What about you readers? Were you inspired by the images and words to investigate a franchise opportunity of your own? If you could do something like this what would you participate in? I’d be interested in hearing your thoughts. So as we close up on this one I am going to remind you to get yourself onto our social side and follow or subscribe to the Official Piercing Ken Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube because these days you need all of the things working in tandem. Next for us comes the Book Con and in the coming weeks the Summer Fancy Food Show which we shall be exploring for the third straight year. Thanks for reading and now its time to say visit some of these links to the companies discussed.
