Back in July we shared the Official Teaser for the upcoming Crime Drama by Martin Scorcese, “The Irishman”. As previously noted, this film was written by Steven Zaillian and is based on a 2004 non-fiction book called “I Heard You Paint Houses” which was written by Charles Brandt. Now its time to check out the Official Trailer which I’ve embedded below and also shared some premise and the ensemble casting. Dig in.
The Premise: The Irishman is the story of Frank Sheeran, a mob hitman and World War II vet who develops his skills during his service in Italy. Now an old man, he reflects on the events that defined his career as a hitman, particularly the role he played in the disappearance of labor leader Jimmy Hoffa, his longtime friend, and his involvement with the Bufalino crime family.

Robert De Niro as Frank “The Irishman” Sheeran
Al Pacino as Jimmy Hoffa
Joe Pesci as Russell Bufalino

Piercing Ken Thoughts: This looks like it might be something worth watching, but I will not be planning on seeing it in the theater during its limited run. Remember this will be playing on Netflix shortly after a short time in the theaters. My guess is this is being done to service all of those people who don’t have Netflix accounts or aren’t using someone else’s account. The idea of Pesci, DeNiro and Pacino in a film together is pretty mind-blowing and some years ago I was an avid reader of the true crime history so the topic is of interest to me when all comes down to it. What about you fine readers? What do you think of it. Feel free to chime in down below with your thoughts. See you soon.
