The Orchard today is pleased to announce the 6th Annual “Ten Bands One Cause” pink vinyl campaign in support of Gilda’s Club NYC, a charity that provides free emotional and social support for cancer patients and their families.
This fall The Orchard and its label partners will release a run of limited edition pink vinyl albums from 10 participating artists –John Prine, Third Eye Blind, Spiritualized, Sunn O))), Amanda Palmer, Courtney Marie Andrews, Mark Lanegan, Saves The Day, Colter Wall and Lacuna Coil. The titles will be available for purchase from September 27-October 25 at vinyl-selling music retailers nationwide with proceeds benefitting Gilda’s Club NYC.
Four of the albums participating in the pink vinyl campaign will be brand new releases. Drone metal act Sunn O))) will release their second album this year titled “Pyroclasts,” and Italian gothic metal band Lacuna Coil returns with their brand new studio album “Black Anima.” Mark Lanegan Band will release a new 14-track album titled “Somebody’s Knocking,” and Third Eye Blind will be releasing their sixth studio album “Screamer” via pink vinyl.

The Ten Bands One Cause program, which was founded in 2014 and includes notable past participants such as Run The Jewels, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Sturgill Simpson, Modest Mouse, Jason Isbell, The Black Keys, and Anthrax, coincides with National Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.

Piercing Ken Thoughts: We don’t collect vinyl here at the Media Command HQ but think that this initiative is one that everyone should get behind.
