Greetings friends and wayward travelers who’ve chanced upon this neck of the Internet woods. You’ve arrived at what I feel is going to be another awesome convention adventure as for the next few days, the New York International Auto Show will be taking over the Javits Center. In the past, I’ve attended this show a couple of times care of free tickets from the fine folks at Toyota but this time I will be exploring it all as a member of the media. It’s my first time attending this convention as a member of the Press and marks the fourth brand new convention I have attended this year with credentials. Tenured readers will remember that back in January I attended The New York Boat Show, The New York Times Travel Show and BroadwayCon all during the same week for the purposes of entertaining you here on “The Chronicles”. So let’s get right on down to it because there are a lot of photos to showcase for you. I’ll chime in from time to time across the chapter and will have numerous links for you to click through at the close. Gentlemen (and Ladies), Start Your Engines!
Once I claimed my credentials, I took notice of several winners of some of the years awards. Take a look.
Heading back up to the section we normally find DC Comics in during NY Comic Con, was an amazing array of vehicles brought down from the Saratoga Automobile Museum. I made sure to snap each of them for your enjoyment since not everyone can make it to NYC for this event.
There was also a prominent display of speedsters used by the legendary Mario Andretti.
Have you driven a Ford lately? You haven’t? Well what on Earth is stopping you my friends.
Ford had a giant Lego statue of a race car driver and also a few display sets where the patrons could build and set up a Minifig on them for social networking photos.
These giant tubs of Lego pieces were where you could assemble the parts for your own custom Minifig.
Here are two of the ones that I made. I think this will be a highlight of the convention for all fans of Ford and of course Lego.
Let me stop here for the moment because it lets these photos be properly absorbed but don’t you worry I will be back tomorrow and the next few days with another installment until I finish all of the photos. You’re going to want to bookmark THIS TAG as it will bring up all of the NYIAS posts as they go live on the website. Remember to follow along with our social networks to see more coolness from the event along with scores of other stuff that we get up to.
