Has it been a year already? Well I guess that it has but here we are once again and ready to sear our senses with the findings at the annual NYC Hot Sauce Expo. This is the fifth straight one and if you love that spicy elixir and haven’t paid a visit to the event yet, please click HERE to see the past event overviews. Once again the event would take place at the Brooklyn Expo Center which we like quite a bit. Let’s get right on down to the photos and some awesome vendors.
My train ride to the event today left my brain a little frazzled so I didn’t know how I wanted to begin my exploration. I figured a quick wander first before photos would be a good idea and that makes me begin with some cool offerings at the Hellfire Hot Sauce table. In addition to the incendiary elixirs, they make some awesome accessories and jewelry.
Just in case you wanted to pose with the inflatable red whatever they call these things.
Outside of the main expo floor are numerous vendors hawking interesting drinks and food so let’s examine. Here is a natural juice company called “Ripe”. They let me sample a couple of the types and it was tasty. I recommend them if you enjoy an all natural juice.
The food for the folks with the VIP Access to the Expo were treated to tasty tacos from the bar Pinks from NYC. I still have to get over to this place and enjoy a cold beer or three and hope to do that soon. Many of my friends like it so I will take their word for it.
The tacos were pretty damned awesome today as well. I had about five of them in total. Hey don’t judge me these are smaller than you might think and I had to protect my stomach from all of the incendiary hot sauces.
As I’ve never really been adept at Jenga, I wasn’t going to take my chances giving the one with the size of bricks playing pieces a chance. Will this player will out?
The Magic 8-Ball says “All signs point to NO”….
Now to peruse inside the VIP section of the Expo which we were fortunate enough to be able to do. You know him, you love him, he is The Murph and he is master of the Bloody Mary Mix.
Now its time to lend some love to the reason we are even here today and that is care of the High River Sauces company.
Here’s our now many years friend, guitarist Chris Caffery who many of you might recognize from the mighty Trans-Siberian Orchestra. The longer tenured Metalheads that are following this site also know his name from the band Savatage. It’s always great to catch up with Caff at this event. When he is standing in one place that is.
Here’s the wild and crazy Purple Pam who is offering up her “Kiss Of Death” hot sauce. I like this stuff, it has a nice kick to it.
So that will bring me to the end of my first installment on the adventures that were had at the 2017 NYC Hot Sauce Expo. I have a bunch of photos left on the digital camera “roll” to share with you so please stay tuned for the next chapter. In the meantime, please be sure to follow “The Chronicles Of Piercing Ken” on INSTAGRAM and don’t forget to support these great vendors and people that were visited in this chapter care of their official websites which are linked below.
