It was only a few short weeks ago when we discussed the brand-new series “Clarice” which begins its first season on CBS tonight. If you didn’t happen to see our Official Trailer post just click HERE to peruse that and then please enjoy the poster, premise and casting for the new crime-drama that continues the world around Agent Clarice Starling after “The Silence Of The Lambs” had ended.
The Premise: Set in 1993, a year after the events of The Silence of the Lambs, the series serves as a deep dive into the untold personal story of Clarice Starling, as she returns to the field to pursue serial murderers and sexual predators while navigating the high-stakes political world of Washington, D.C.
Rebecca Breeds as Clarice Starling
Devyn A. Tyler as Ardelia Mapp
Lucca De Oliveira as Tomas Esquivel
Kal Penn as Emin Grigoryan
Nick Sandow as Murray Clarke
Michael Cudlitz as Paul Krendler
Marnee Carpenter as Catherine Martin
Jayne Atkinson as Ruth Martin
Shawn Doyle as Clarice’s therapist
Tim Guinee as Novak
Piercing Ken Thoughts: In my trailer post I pointed out that I felt this series might be interesting but as I also noted there will not even be a single mention of the dangerous Hannibal Lecter based on a rights issue. Will this prevent the series about the rising star agent from succeeding? Only time and the initial ratings can tell. As you know, the networks are not letting struggling shows hang on all that long if the ratings are crap. I’m going to program this onto the DVR since many shows I like will be going away in the coming months (“Supergirl”, and “Black Lightning” from The CW) so I’m open to give some stuff a chance. CBS has also offered up a revised go of “The Equalizer” that began post Superbowl XXI (discussed HERE). Since the show is airing at 10PM I don’t see anyone making it dining television but perhaps I can suggest a nice Chianti? OK I’ll show myself out, see you again soon.
