Think Tank Photo Inc. (“Think Tank”) and MindShift Gear LLC (“MindShift”), innovators in premium camera bag design, today announced the merger of the two companies, creating an integrated product suite for professional and advanced photographers. The merger is effective today, and the companies have immediately combined their business operations.
The combined company will be privately held and operate under the Think Tank brand. MindShift will continue as a distinct product line for outdoor photography bags and accessories. Doug Murdoch, Think Tank’s founder, president, and lead designer, will continue as Chairman of the Board and president of the combined company. Corporate headquarters will remain in Santa Rosa, CA.

Piercing Ken Thoughts: I’ve been using Think Tank Photo products since 2008 which historically speaking was when my PiercingMetal site was still in its early stages and a couple of years before this blog was even an idea. Way back then, I entertained the notion of the occasional Product Review on PiercingMetal and those summaries can be found HERE in terms of the Think Tank Photo products that I discussed. Nowadays, those reviews are kept here on “The Chronicles” since the audience is broader than on the tightly focused music and geek site. I think that this merger of the two sides is a great idea and though I haven’t needed any MindShift stuff to date, there were items that piqued my interest for those times when I am covering an outdoor event.
