I’ve shared some of the advance stuff for Disney’s live-action rendition of their classic “The Lion King” with the Official Trailer and some posters which you can enjoy by clicking the highlighted text. Now the day has come and its time to head into the deepest jungles and watch how this tale unfolds as the film opens in theaters everywhere. I’ve repeated the premise and casting below the poster.
The Premise: In the African savanna, the young lion Simba idolizes his father, Mufasa, and longs to succeed him as King of the Pridelands. Before this can happen, his jealous uncle Scar initiates a coup which results in Mufasa’s death and Simba’s exile. Simba grows up in the company of Timon and Pumbaa, a meerkat and warthog pair with a carefree lifestyle. As tensions rise, he is drawn back into a battle with Scar by the friends from his past life. Back in May I shared the teaser trailer for the upcoming Disney feature “Maleficent: Mistress Of Evil” which you can examine HERE if you are so inclined. With that post I pointed out that sequels no longer surprise me and since I did enjoy the first film, I was definitely curious to see how a chapter two might work out. Earlier today, the fine folks at the House Of Mouse delivered the first Official Trailer and you may peruse it down below along with the premise, casting and some additional poster visuals.
The Synopsis: A fantasy adventure that picks up several years after Maleficent, in which audiences learned of the events that hardened the heart of Disney’s most notorious villain and drove her to curse a baby Princess Aurora, Maleficent II continues to explore the complex relationship between the horned fairy and the soon to be Queen, as they form new alliances and face new adversaries in their struggle to protect the moors and the magical creatures that reside within. The world at large has recently gotten live action renditions of a number of Disney classics with “Aladdin” already in theaters and “The Lion King” opening up in the coming days. On that note, the news about casting for a live action “The Little Mermaid” is circulating so finding out that “Mulan” was doing the same thing I wasn’t really surprised. The first teaser look at the film was just recently released so let’s take a look at it along with the premise, casting and the first teaser poster as well.
The Plot: When the Emperor of China issues a decree that one man per family must serve in the Imperial Army to defend the country from Northern invaders attacking China, Hua Mulan, the eldest daughter of an honored warrior, steps in to take the place of her ailing father. She is spirited, determined and quick on her feet. Masquerading as a man, Hua Jun, she is tested every step of the way and must harness her inner-strength and embrace her true potential. It is an epic journey that will transform her into not only an honored warrior, but one of China’s greatest warriors ever and earn her the respect of a grateful nation…and a proud father. As I noted in the teaser trailer for this same film, I’m feeling that 2019 might very well amount to being “The Year Of Disney” because films such as “Aladdin”, “Captain Marvel” and “Avengers: Endgame” have been released and some of these are still killing it at the Box Office. Coming up soon enough are “The Lion King”, “Toy Story 4” and “Maleficent: Mistress Of Evil” are still coming down the pike. Surely these are going to lead us to a lot of family friendly entertainment and here is the full trailer for “Frozen II”, the sequel to the blockbuster “Frozen” film. Let’s take a look.
If you didn’t see the Official Trailer for “Aladdin” yet you’re going to want to click HERE to be up to speed or risk going into the film blind because the latest Disney live-action version of one of their classic animations opens up today in theaters everywhere. I’ll remind you of the premise and casting following the poster.
