Hey there my friends, this is just a quick reminder announcement to make sure that you knew that the New York Comic Con Metaverse for 2020 is starting today. This virtual event comes on the heels of ReedPOP being forced to cancel the annual physical NYCC based on the Coronavirus Pandemic. As you might expect, this is no time to host an event that brings in more than a quarter million people into a single place. I’ve shared a few posts about the things to do during this virtual convention over on PiercingMetal.com and you can examine them by clicking HERE. There are a LOT of panels and a LOT of cool giveaways and exclusives that you can purchase from the same vendors that you would see while walking up and down the aisles of the Javits Center. The Press Release:
This Saturday, October 10th at 4 PM EST, Scholastic is partnering with Books of Wonder to host a virtual New York Comic Con panel with five of our amazing Graphix creators. Register for this free-to-attend event HERE.
Readers of my adventures here on “The Chronicles” know full well that one of the special events that I love to attend each and every summer is The Toy Insider’s “Sweet Suite”. This affair is a wonderful one and brings together scores of amazing companies and their reps to showcase the “must have” toys and games. If you’re new to these narrative, let me tell you that the folks at The Toy Insider really know their stuff and I was happy to have met them at the annual Toy Fair several years ago. Of course the lay of the land right now is that physical events are pretty much impossible and the need to go virtual is a necessity. Such was the case for this soiree and I’ve culled together some visuals in a fun little overview that begins with a login…..Let’s go.
Now that we’ve successfully logged in, its time to look around the show floor and as you can see its quite impressive. I felt like I was a character in a video game because as you can see the overall vibe you see once “inside the matrix” gives you that sense.
As was previously reported here on “The Chronicles”, the 2020 Edition of BookExpo, The Book Con and Unbound were cancelled as physical events due to the ban on large public assembly that was put into place to help stop the spread of the still in progress Coronavirus. More about that can be found HERE for those who like to be fully informed. With the event going virtual for the year, we’ve just received the schedule for the three days and the links on how you might participate. Take a look.
