Greetings my friends, I am back nice and early this Monday morning to share with you all the winners of last night’s American Music Awards. They were handed out at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles during a broadcast last night. I didn’t watch the program myself as I was at a killer Metal show for the PiercingMetal.com side of the fence. Let’s take a look at who took home a trophy and to let you all debate the fairness of the process, I have left the names of the nominees in each category as well. Let’s get down to business.
ARTIST OF THE YEAR
Drake
Ariana Grande
Halsey
Post Malone WINNER – Taylor Swift
Well hello again my friends in blogosphere. I’m back to share the winners of the E! People’s Choice Awards that were handed out just the other day. I’ve included the other nominees for the categories so you can either rally or rant after you see the winner. As before, this is a long list so get comfortable and maybe have something to drink on hand as well or a light snack.

Hello again my friends, it wasn’t long ago that I lined out the nominations for the 2019 MTV VMA’s and this year’s awards were just handed out in full during a fully loaded entertainment spectacle at New Jersey’s Prudential Center. While we didn’t watch the broadcast ourselves we are happy to share the winners circle with all of our readers who enjoy this group of artists. The show was hosted by Sebastian Maniscalco. Let’s go.
Video of the Year:
21 Savage: “a lot” [ft. J. Cole]
Billie Eilish: “bad guy”
Ariana Grande: thank u, next”
Jonas Brothers: “Sucker”
Lil Nas X: “Old Town Road (Remix)” [ft. Billy Ray Cyrus] WINNER – Taylor Swift: “You Need to Calm Down”
Considering that I have so much Pop Culture stuff to share on the PiercingMetal website and when one adds to this the fact that the Comic Con International: San Diego has just begun, I admit that I was not all that aware that a live action film for the hit Broadway show “Cats” was even a thing. Of course it is and we have the first Official Trailer for this Universal Pictures release to share with you so take a look down below. I’ve also added in the premise and the massive casting along with the early released artwork. Enjoy.
The Press Release:
On Sunday, Vevo confirmed that Taylor Swift’s “ME!” had broken the record for most views in 24 hours. Today, Vevo can confirm that “ME!” is now the fastest video to reach 100 million views.
The video for “ME!” featuring Brendon Urie of Panic! At The Disco eclipses records formerly set by Ariana Grande’s “thank u, next” and Taylor’s very own “Look What you Made Me Do.” This feat was managed in 79 hours following the release of the video on Friday, April 26th.
JP Evangelista, Vevo SVP of Content, Programing & Marketing said, “Taylor has consistently demonstrated the ability to break records on Vevo. She continues to expand upon a deep history of incredibly striking audio-visual work. Likewise, director Dave Meyers continues a storied career as one of the premier music video directors in our industry. On behalf of the Vevo family, we congratulate Taylor Swift & Republic Records on yet another historic accomplishment.”

Piercing Ken Thoughts: Now despite my not being among the fans of Taylor Swift since I like my music a lot heavier, I have to say that this is an incredible accomplishment for a single video clip. YouTube is one of the hardest places to build up a following these days but it doesn’t surprise me when it comes to Taylor because she works really hard on her craft and has a bankroll to bring in the most talented people in the industry to get things done. I did enjoy the clever playfulness and special effects in this clip and wish that I had the budget to do magnificent things with my own two channels for “The Chronicles” and PiercingMetal but alas – I don’t. What did you think about this clip and the milestone? Please feel free to chime in down below in the comments section. See you again soon.
