Well how about that my friends, it appears as though we’ve once again arrived at the time where the Instagram “Top Nine” images are tabulated and that means you get to enjoy them as well. Over the course of 2018, I really was enjoying the use of Instagram as a social networking tool and I’m fairly certain that I used it a lot more than any of the other socials combined. The rundown will come after the image below so please take a gander. I figured that I’d offer up some background on them all.
About These Visuals: Starting from the top left hand corner we’ve got my favorite girl Spooke the Black Cat and she actually made the Top Nice twice this year. The first one is from a vet visit for a quick check up and the other was just her chilling out on my office chair that she likes. There are two photos of me with the first one being from the Style Fashion Week step and repeat area while the other when I was dressed all Southern casual while visiting my family down South. The second row also features two images from the NY Empire State Tattoo Expo which I was honored to wander as a member of the lifestyle media. The extremely lovely ladies pictured from each in a left to right fashion are Ryan Ashley, Nikki Simpson (from an Inked tattoo reality program) and burlesque goddesses LuLu D’Vil, Bon Bon Cherry and Frankie Fictitious. Whew, such talent. The last row are two visuals from BroadwayCon which I attended for the very first time and loved it. Last but not least is a steaming plate of Polish food that my mother made when I was visiting down South. It was so danged good that I had seconds and you know what else was good? Our year in Instagram because I had a blast uploading and sharing all of these and so many more adventures with those who happen by. According to their tally, the account recieved 11.3K likes for the sum total of our 2,860 posted images. I believe we’ve grown by about 60 followers over the year to 681. Let’s see how much closer I can get to 1K on this account over the course of the soon to arrive 2019 year.
I’ve had a lot of fun this past year sharing the happenings in this Lifestyle Blog and also on its own branded Instagram account. Now, as the year heads towards a close its time to share what the #2017BestNine were for this profile. I’ll be adding some information about the ones that made this years cut. It was quite an interesting grouping IMHO. Here we go.
About These Visuals: The top photo of them all is the Lego statue of Luke Skywalker from “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” and I did snap that with my mobile at the recent Play Fair event over at the Javits Center. There are also two photos of myself and two beautiful burlesque queens. I met Raquel Reed and Lou Lou D’Vil at the Tattoo Expo that happened this summer and they were awesome to chat with. A quick snap outside of The Met was a surprise one to see but who doesn’t love the baby goat from Book Expo America and of course my beloved Black Cat Spooke. The inflatable turkey from Macy’s is also rather new as is my Lego branding for PiercingMetal which was also done at Play Fair. This account is not used as much as my PiercingMetal one of course but I am trying to do more of the arts and tourism stuff here since “The Chronicles” website has been doing its best at raising the creative bar over the last few years. My hope for 2018 is to bring a lot more about my adventures in the city to light in this profile. We have a lot of museums to explore and while I didn’t post too much in terms of food goes, I do take plenty of photos of that stuff for the blog so why not share them on our Instagram as well.
At this point in time the Piercing Ken Instagram is followed by a little over “600” accounts and our demographic is 45% Men and 55% Woman. Our biggest region is New York (no surprise there) and followed by Los Angeles. The top age range is 25-34.

Recently, I was reading one of the many other music blogs out there .and they were lining out what social networks they recommend be used by bands that are currently trying to raise awareness about their existence. Let’s face it, there are a ton of groups and this was a great idea to see being done. Truth be told, a website is like a band as well because one must employ the same tools in order to help raise the brand profile and keep up with the Jones’. With that in mind, I felt it was a good time to revisit the whole crop of items being used by “The Chronicles” with a quick summary about it. This is our current main page and its theme with the latest posting. Oh yeah and outside of this image, if you click any of the photos you will be brought to that network.
Since it’s now the BIGGEST of the Social Networks ever, I should start with the Official Facebook Page for “The Chronicles”. Facebook became the Big Kahuna for all things social a few years ago and as result its made NUMEROUS changes to the dynamic. We’ve had an official account for years and its those who “like” it help to keep it flourishing. It’s free to have but unless you pay for advertisements or to “increase reach” of the posts you might as well be invisible. These days those who legitimately support our activities here have reported they never see our posts and its probably based on the two-step methodology of being seen. Fans have to not only “like” said page but also select “see first” when they do so. Otherwise we fall far behind all of those friends who argue politics with everyone else on your feed. I used to let the posts go there automatically upon their go live moment, but have since adopted the method of embedding them one by one so the assorted pages that they might relate to get tagged as well. It’s more work sure but its proven effective. Be sure to check this one out for sure.
Hello my fellow photo hounds and those who just like looking at images around the web on the social networks. The other day I discovered what the “Best 9” photos were for the Instagram for my PiercingKen.com site and as some of our readers might already know, this profile has been in play for a few months longer than the “METAL” one but is more broad in its presentation. The overall tally of the Official PiercingKen Instagram at the time of my posting this narrative is that it has 966 photos uploaded and a profile that is followed by 501 users. According to the “Best 9” website this account has had 3,374 likes on 206 photos. I think that’s pretty cool and am glad that I make some people smile with the profile. I hope to use it a lot more in 2017 based on what I see around me. Now, thanks to the fun website link which you will find at the end of this narrative, I was able to learn what my “9” most popular posted images were in 2016 and I wanted to share that with you below. I’d been using Instagram as a personal account for my PiercingKen.com site for a few months before I decided to have one for the Metal website and it’s really a lot of fun for me since its an immediate glimpse into what I am seeing at the very second for the most part. Now while there are less than the PM.com one, the full tally is about 761 photos. Thanks to the fun website link which you will find at the end of this narrative, I was able to learn what my “9” most popular posted images were in 2015 and I wanted to share that with you below. Here is the graphic of those nine images.
The selections made me smile as it featured my beloved felines along with my home stomping grounds of Brooklyn and a few food related things. All of them a part of my personal world much like this blog itself. As with my PiercingMetal Instagram account, all of the items you see here are 100% original content and I’d have it no other way. If you click this image above you will be brought to our official account and I hope you choose to give it a follow and start perusing the images that have come before. Your click will help decide the ones that win this sort of thing when we get to the end of this year in another 362 days. I hope you enjoy it and know that I always appreciate the support. I’m looking to making this a productive year on PiercingKen and all its socials. Let’s do this together.
