Last month I posted a narrative that shined the spotlight on the Hasbro Studio brand new Netflix Animated series “Stretch Armstrong and The Flex Fighters”. Yesterday we received a bit of cool correspondence to the Creative Command HQ that unveiled the first bunch of action figures and now you can see them as well. Let’s take a look.
Let’s start off with Stretch Armstrong and The Flex Fighters…each comes equipped with weapons and are in cool costumes. These six action figures are a part of the “Flex Power Heroes” and I’ve shared the “Official Scoop” on them below.
Stretch Armstrong Flex Power Heroes: Each Flex Power Heroes figure has accessories and a signature action. The three core Flex Power Heroes (Stretch Armstrong, Omni-Mass, and Wingspan) have flexible bodies that allow them to “power” their Flex Power gear, enabling them to streeetch, release, and launch discs and missiles. Stretch Monster throws boulders, while Quick Charge and the ultra-mysterious and ninja-like Blind Strike each have flexible projectiles that launch from their unique accessories. It’s flextastic fun!
Back in May, I shared the news about a brand new convention that was being curated by the folks over at Hasbro Toys called “HASCON”. If you missed that post for some reason we surely forgive you but now let’s get with the program and read THIS LINK so you are up to speed.
So the reason for my urgency is based on the convention being around the corner if you planned on going. Sadly, I cannot work it out based on too many time constraints here in NYC but that doesn’t stop me from sharing the items of interest that I learn about. About a month ago I saw some posts relating to a “My Little Pony” box and I’ve secured the image and its content description for you all. Check it out.

Piercing Ken Thoughts: Since a lot of my friends have younger kids that tune into the MLP stuff, I knew that I had to share this with them as they are going to need to secure one. I should clarify that this is NOT the regular MLP subscription box that is offered. Nowadays it seems as though everything has a subscription box to it. DROPMIX is a first-of-its-kind competitive gaming experience that blends physical and digital play to give players a fresh way to combine their favorite artist and songs and discover new ones. When a DROPMIX Card is placed on a Mix Slot, the electronic DROPMIX Board immediately starts playing the corresponding part of the song (bass, beat, loop or vocals) noted on the card. * Party Mode: A team-based game where players race against the clock to achieve the highest score by matching requests made via the DROPMIX app. Every request answered rewards points based on how quickly players place their cards down. Answer all the requests accurately to unlock a bonus round and push your score even higher.
* Clash Mode: A head-to-head competitive mode where players need to think strategically to dominate the mix. By carefully choosing and building decks, players can use different abilities to score points or block opponents as they race to be the first to reach 21 points.

In addition to the 60 DROPMIX Cards in the Music Gaming System, Hasbro will release Playlist Packs with 16 DROPMIX Cards for the suggested retail price of $14.99 and Discover Packs with five DROPMIX Cards for the suggested retail price of $4.99. Additional cards will be rolling out on an ongoing basis to allow players to collect and curate custom decks and create new and unexpected soundtracks each time they play. Piercing Ken Thoughts: So this is my very first time hearing about this and I have to admit that it sounds pretty cool. I noticed a “Rock” assortment in the images so I added that one but please know there is also an Electronica and a Hip Hop one as well. I just didn’t want to overload the images in this piece. In the coming weeks I will be hitting the annual “Sweet Suite” as a member of the press and this is a Toy Insider curated event so I am hoping that this is being presented by the Hasbro reps in attendance. As you know I’m a diehard Rock and Metal guy so mixing music is not really done in my field as much as “mash-ups” are done but who knows, maybe we shall find some Rock legends jumping into this new game just like we found happening with the old Rock game “Guitar Hero”. It was great to add this happening to my series of toy related narratives and while last years event was on a luxury yacht, this years showcase was down in the Chelsea Piers which according to Skeleton Pete has happened there a few times before. Giving this an overlook as we walked in to set up, it felt like this would be a better way to absorb the items being showcased since it was all on one level. With the yacht, you were on three floors and there was a chance to miss something by accident. One never wants to miss anything at an event like this when it comes to toys.
If you’ve been reading this site for even a shorter time than most others, you know how we just love to hit the convention circuit and can frequently be found in attendance as the accredited media covering wonderful events like the NY Comic Con and The American International Toy Fair.
