Merry Christmas my dear readers if this is a holiday that you are celebrating along with us. I’m returning to the topic of the brand-new Disney Pixar release “Soul” which opens today and if you missed our trailer post from a few weeks ago just click HERE to be on point with that. As noted in the close of that post, we helped share the news that instead of hitting the theaters this was going to the Disney+ streaming service for all to see provided they are subscribers. There isn’t a premium cost like they did with “Mulan”. Let’s review the premise and voice casting below shall we.
Joe Gardner, a middle school music teacher, has long dreamed of performing jazz music onstage, and finally gets a chance after impressing other jazz musicians during an opening act at the Half Note Club. However, an untimely accident causes Gardner’s soul to be separated from his body and begin to proceed to the Great Beyond, and Gardner escapes to the Great Before, a world where souls develop personalities, quirks, and traits before being sent off to Earth. There, Gardner must work with souls in training at the Great Before, such as 22, a soul with a dim view on the concept of life, in order to return to Earth before his body dies and also avoid a soul-counter named Terry, who goes to earth to find Joe and bring him back to the afterlife to meet her quota. Thanks to this brand-new Disney film “Mulan”, our Pop Culture narratives have received quite the uptick since there have been numerous trailers and look at this scene from the film clips along with a healthy batch of promotional posters. Since I don’t want you to go into this one unaware, you can peruse all of the other “Mulan” posts on The Chronicles by clicking HERE. Today, the film premieres on the Disney+ streaming service but on their Premium Access side of the fence. It will run you about $30 for the film. This is new for them and seems to be the best response to the pandemic changes. Lets’s overview the Official Poster, premise and casting before some closing editorial from me.

As you all are probably aware by now, Broadway is on hiatus for the time-being based on the effects of the still in progress Coronavirus Pandemic. Recent reports say that its likely not to return until Winter when the year turns over but some even have pushed this as far as Spring 2021. One of the hottest plays currently on the stage is Lin-Manuel Miranda’s “Hamilton”. The play has been a blockbuster since opening and has won “11” Tony Awards. It was set to open in theaters everywhere sometime in 2021 but with the virus causing so many shows and events to be cancelled or postponed until indeterminate dates, the decision was made to stream this on Disney+ beginning on July 3rd. The trailer was recently released so let’s check that out along with the premise, casting and the official poster.
As previously discussed, the latest film in the Disney live-action adventures comes care of the movie “Artemis Fowl” which is a bit of a spy thriller that is based on a series of Young Reader novels. This film was supposed to make its debut in the theaters but thanks to the Coronavirus Pandemic instead will be available today and going forward on their popular Disney+ Streaming Service. We’ve touched upon the film already with the Official Trailer and the Special Look clips that you can see by clicking the highlighted text at your leisure. Now it’s time to look at the poster, the premise and the casting on this Kenneth Branagh directed film
By now I’m hoping that a number of you streaming fans have seen some of the information about the coming at us in the next few weeks service called “Disney+”. They had a cool trailer that I posted over on PiercingMetal a couple of months ago which you can check out by clicking HERE.
