Presenting The 43rd Annual Golden Raspberry (Razzie) Nominations

razzie awards, golden raspberry awards

The Press Release:
Leading the pack of cinematic mongrels with 8 nominations for the 43rd Annual Razzie® Awards is Blonde, which movie-goers liked even less than critics did. Called a “biopic that’s not a biopic,” by its makers, it “explores” the exploitation of Marilyn Monroe…by continuing to exploit her posthumously. In addition to Worst Picture, it’s up for Worst Screenplay and Worst Director, both by Andrew Dominik, whose work here says more about him than it does about his subject. Copping 7 dings is Good Mourning, a laugh-free stoner comedy achieving the rare feat of scoring a perfect ZERO on Rotten Tomatoes. The year’s most ridiculed movie, Morbius (with Worst Actor nominee Jared Leto in the title role) collected five nods. Disney’s wholly unnecessary (and oddly creepy) live action/CGI remake of Pinocchio pulled our voters’ strings to make it into six categories. Taking the pole position for Worst Supporting Actor is 2022’s most widely derided performance, Tom Hanks’ latex-laden, ludicrously accented portrayal of Col. Tom Parker in the otherwise critically acclaimed Elvis. A complete list of nominees is included below. The Official 43rd Razzie Nominations Video can be watched on the RazzieChannel.

The 43rd Razzie “Winners” will be unveiled on “Oscar Eve” – Saturday, March 11th.

Rundown Of “The Honeymooners” Marathon On PIX11 12/31/2022-1/1/2023

Some of you already know about this feature but perhaps there are those who don’t and with that being said let me inform those new to “The Chronicles of Piercing Ken” website that for the last few years I’ve sat down and cobbled together a complete rundown of the annual marathon of episodes of the classic comedy series “The Honeymooners”. This marathon is presented to us by the fine folks at PIX11 and they’ve been doing this kind of thing for as long as I can remember. From my checking the past posts, it seems like I’ve been posting about this since the 2019/2020 marathon and I kept it going when the world was better enjoyed from inside the confines of our own dwellings in 2021 for the most part. I did it again for 2022 and now I guess its something of a tradition for the site since we are constantly doing Pop Culture Film and Television posts. Clearly the last few years have knocked the wind out our sails but slowly and surely we are trying to get back to as normal as we can and the familiarity of “The Honeymooners” marathon is a good way to look ahead positively. For sure 2022 as a year was miles better in many instances but the way that we were in “The Before Times” has not yet returned for most of us. Thought I’ve been going to concerts and conventions throughout 2022, I will admit that I approached them differently and wasn’t going to everything that happened and we are fully vaccinated. If you have the space on your DVR you should start programming them now so you are able to switch channels to your favorite network to watch the ball drop before you return to the fun of “The Honeymooners”. I didn’t program this last year but think that I will this time around despite my owning the DVD of what they call “The Classic 39”. As we’ve found in the past marathons, some of the funniest and best of the episodes will be aired so head over to WPIX 11 and spend some time in Brooklyn with Ralph Kramden, Ed Norton, Alice Kramden and Trixie Norton and just relax for awhile. The shows begin at 11PM and run continuously into New Year’s Day with a pause for other programming from 7AM until Noon. Let’s take a look.

December 31st:
11:00PM – TV Or Not TV
11:30PM – Pal O’ Mine
