PiercingKen Goes To The PDN Photoplus Expo 2011

It was almost Halloween and only a few short weeks after the NY Comic Con that I documented HERE over on PiercingMetal and that meant that it was now the PDN Photoplus Expo’s turn to take over the Javits Center. This was my second year attending and I would take this adventure with my good buddy Skeleton Pete.

For the most part this post will be one of photos only and I will admit to paying a little bit more attention to some of the models that we chanced upon. So without any further adieu, here we go.

Here’s the Spider Holster to better secure your gear while in the field. Depending on your situation you can see why this is something important.

Here is some quality transportation gear for your devices from “Photography and Cinema”; I admit that while I don’t need this kind of thing I got a kick out of having wheels on my camera.

Kodak’s Display. You know the first digital camera I ever used was a Kodak. It was barely powerful by today’s standards of course but it worked for the needs I had back then.

Here is the display for MiniMe, they let you use your photos as the faces in customized little figures. Pretty neat.

Some notable companies were present such as Sony and HP. I guess you expected that though.

Western Digital was giving out these little gnomes that advised you to backup your data when they were squeezed. This is a VERY important thing to do my friends. Trust me on that one.

Sandisk is my preferred choice of memory cards. I’ve been very lucky with them in terms of how they last and perform while in the field.

Readers might not know this but I have been using Think Tank Photo products for a few years now and they are my preferred choice when it comes to protective carrying gear for my cameras and accessories. Here is a quick shot of their display. I’ve even reviewed some of their products on PiercingKen and you can examine those ponderings HERE.

Last year I noticed how Nikon had a great space and a few models so expo attendees could practice snapping photos with various lighting and their wonderful colors. This year the models all appeared to be showcasing the new Nikon Coolpix camera. Its a point and shoot but appears very powerful. I decided to close this particular blog post with these lovely young ladies style. Enjoy.

That’s all I have for this years show. I hope you enjoyed the presentation. This is fun to go to and a little easier to wander than the Comic Con which happens a few weeks before. I might have said that last year so forgive me for repeating myself. It happens. Be sure to click some links and peruse.
