The Press Release:
NY NOW announced today plans to create a single stationery destination within its market. The reimagined stationery destination will be part of a re-branded Gift + Stationery section and, as a result, the National Stationery Show brand will be retired.

Stationery has always been a critical part of NY NOW and the new destination will allow for stronger merchandizing and an improved buying experience. The stationery destination will continue to feature the Greeting Card Association (GCA) Village so that emerging publishers have a pathway to participating in NY NOW.

“Stationery has always been a very important part of NY NOW and will continue to be so. In fact, approximately a quarter of our Gift exhibitors are stationery brands,” said Tim Hart, SVP, NY NOW. “Retiring the storied NSS brand was not an easy decision to make but, having consulted with our community, we are confident that creating a definitive stationery destination is the best way to delight buyers. We celebrate stationery and want to thank all the NSS exhibitors and buyers who have made the brand such a success since it was founded in 1945. We are looking forward to working alongside all of you as we launch this re-imagined collection of artists and products,” added Hart.

“We have worked with the National Stationery Show and NY NOW for many years and we look forward to continuing our partnership,” said George White, President, GCA. “Gift, stationery and greeting cards naturally go together, as they do at retail, and we fully support the re-imagining of stationery at NY NOW as Gift + Stationery. NY NOW is a cornerstone of our tradeshow strategy and we are pleased that the GCA Village will continue to provide opportunities for smaller, emerging publishers to participate,” added White.

The next edition of NY NOW will take place at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in February 2021.
