The Press Release:
South Korean girl group BLACKPINK has taken the world by storm, breaking records around the world and inspiring millions with their cool, empowering songs and style. At New York Toy Fair, toy company Jazwares is unveiling a first look at a new line of collectibles and toys inspired by YG Entertainment’s hit K-pop group.
Authentic, cool and chic, the BLACKPINK collection draws on the group members’ personalities both on and off the stage for products that will appeal to both die-hard BLINKS and casual fans. In creating the collection, Jazwares was inspired by each girls’ look, personality and talent and sought to bring their most iconic moments to life through toys and collectibles. For the dolls, each girl is represented through looks from BLACKPINK’s top singles, “Kill This Love,” “DDU-DU DDU-DU,” and “BOOMBAYAH,” resulting in 24 stylized outfits that can be mixed and matched. At launch, the line will include microphone mystery figures, heart surprise figure & accessories, light-up plush heart with additional collectible items coming soon including:
* Fashion dolls
* Mini surprise collectible dolls with accessories
* DomezTM collectibles
“In just a few short years, BLACKPINK has established themselves as one of the hottest rising female groups in the music industry and we are thrilled to work together with the girls to bring a line of collectible products into the homes of fans around the globe,” said Laura Zebersky, Chief Commercial Officer at Jazwares.

Since their debut in 2016, BLACKPINK has won more than 38 awards and received 149 nominations to date. With over 1.1 billion global Spotify streams in 79 countries, this talented girl group is the highest charting female K-pop group as of 2019.

Piercing Ken Thoughts: While these kinds of collectibles are outside of my own interest level, I know so many friends with the of age group that will clearly be over the moon about anything to do with this very exciting group. I’m sure that I will be seeing some reveals from our friends at Toy Fair and maybe even at one of the upcoming Toy Insider or TTPM gatherings. I apologize for the lack of any product visuals but nothing was sent along in this announcement so stay tuned for when there are some product reveals I guess. Until that time you can tell me what you think about this news and if it strikes your fancy. I will see you next time around. Thanks for reading.
