Examining The: Think Tank Photo Credentials Holder

As a very active member of the media, I am often seen sporting some sort of sticker or pass that allows me the permission to do the photography stuff or be involved with some of the behind the scenes stuff at shows all around our great metropolis. With this being the case I was long in need of something that allowed for the safe-keeping of said credentials and fortunately the fine folks at Think Tank Photo had just what I needed. Behold the Think Tank Photo “Credentials Holder”. I got my hands on the large sized one and will go over some of its finer points in the photos below. Let’s begin.

The photo above shows you the credentials holder from the front and as you can see this particular model has a nicely sized window to display whatever credentials or pass that you might have to use for your assignment or any adventure where it applies. Right behind the clear window is a larger pocket which is perfect for holding a thin note pad if you need some paper handy. The front flap has velcro on it to seal it nice and soundly. Flipping it to the reverse side you can see that its completely sealed all around and even offers a belt loop if you wanted to wear it that way or on a knapsack strap somehow.

To better gauge the size in your mind I have placed a standard Sharpie black marker next to it. I figured this the best item to use since sometimes you are interested in getting an album CD cover signed or a ticket and everyone always uses a Sharpie for this stuff.

I need to flip this over to the rear again to access the small zipped pocket that is available. My apologies for neglecting to mention this pocket existed in the earlier photos. Another highlight of the back side of the holder are the two pen holders on either side of it. You cannot really see them in the photo but they securely hold either a ball point or Sharpie pen. I tend to carry both at shows and this was awesome to have available.

One of the things that I love to get at shows are the guitar picks and sometimes this is possible at the merchandise table or if you actually know the performer and he is willing to give you a couple. Here we see a stash of assorted guitar picks (no band ones but more company branded ones for the purpose of demonstration).

The rear pocket is not actually huge but can hold a few guitar picks, loose change and perhaps even a couple of pairs of ear plugs nicely. Yes I said ear plugs. One tends to need those if you attend a lot of shows like we do here at the creative command center.

Here’s a bunch of concert tickets and assorted show satins to do the photo thing or access the media areas of a show. Totally in disarray right? Not anymore thanks to the Think Tank Photo credentials holder. Take a look at the photo that follows.

assorted photo passes,

See? Nice and neatly secured and safe enough to bring home for your collection of such things unless you are one of those people that like to hang endless numbers of badges and passes on your keychain like I see happening around. Sorry you are not impressing anyone and only risk losing the whole mess of them by doing that. Food for thought.

When you have a media outlet that you stockpile with photographs or musings you should also have a proper business card and I am never one that is caught without them in my pocket. I try to carry no less than a couple of dozen depending on the event that I am attending. If its a media gathering of any kind then more is better because the worst case scenario is running out of them.

As you can see, a small handful of business cards can be stockpiled in the aforementioned pocket. You can also use the longer sleeve portion depending on how many you wish to carry around and use.

The strap on the holder is nice and long if you need that and can be pulled back into the pouch when you need to store it. Here is an example of the length you get.

That’s the end of my sticking a pass on my pants leg or hoodie at the shows, especially if its a quality pass. Those I want to keep whenever possible.
