The Statement:
Dear friends,

Thank you for your continuous support to Japan Day @ Central Park 2020.

In light of the ongoing situation concerning the novel coronavirus pandemic, after much consideration, we have regrettably come to the decision to postpone the Japan Day @ Central Park 2020 (Japan Day Parade and Festival) event, currently scheduled for May 10, 2020, to a later date in the year (currently anticipating the fall).

This decision was difficult to make as the situation is quite fluid; however, our main concern is the safety and wellness of our spectators & visitors, sponsors, staff, and all involved with the event. Therefore, we kindly ask you for your unequivocal understanding in this decision. We will pay special attention to this situation and will inform you with further details.

The Japan Run 4 mile race and kids races, hosted by New York Road Runners (NYRR), are currently scheduled to take place on May 10, 2020. This event is held under NYRR’s guideline; therefore, we will be closely monitoring the development of said event and will keep you informed of any updates.

Please follow our social media or sign up to our mailing list for updates. Thank you again for your understanding.

With respect,
Japan Day Inc.

Piercing Ken Thoughts: Since the news about this virus is still building up, I am admittedly concerned when stuff that is some two months away is getting cancelled. It’s my hope that more information about its control and elimination are on the way. As more information about events that I’d cover here on “The Chronicles” comes to light I will be sure to share it with you. Stay healthy my dear readers and I guess let’s cross our fingers. See you next time.
