You might remember our recently discussing this weekends OZY Fest (seen HERE in case you don’t). Sadly, the city has opted to cancel the event based on the extreme heat that was forecast for the weekend. At last check the news reported in the hundred plus as a real feel. Read more down below.
Due to historic temperatures in New York this weekend, the City of New York has canceled OZY Fest. The National Weather Service issued an “Excessive Heat Warning” through Sunday, which happens when the combination of heat and humidity is expected to make it feel like it is 105 degrees or greater.
“The health and safety of New Yorkers is our most important concern, and we are left with no other option but to cancel all large-scale park events throughout New York City Saturday and Sunday. We are working hand-in-hand with OZY and others to make this as smooth a process as possible,” said Mayor Bill de Blasio. Continue reading IMPORTANT: The OZY Fest in Central Park Is CANCELLED!!!→
One of the things I like to do with this Lifestyle Blogsite is to constantly keep you in the know about things to do and see around the city. When I learned the lineup about the upcoming Ozy Fest I opted to share that along with a little bit about the event. Since this information was new to me, I took it right from their website.
About OZY Fest: OZY Fest was born out of our deep belief that broad curiosity — about people, ideas, and culture — fuels meaningful and rewarding lives. Featuring two full days of live music, interactive art, cooking demos, and stimulating conversation with leaders across disciplines and political leanings, OZY Fest offers a rare opportunity to engage with forward-thinking artists, business leaders, presidential candidates, writers, teachers, students and more — all while chowing down on great food in the sunshine of New York’s Central Park Continue reading The OZY Fest Lineup and Dates→

Considering the era in which I attended college (late eighties to early nineties), there was no escaping the music of Madonna if you were seeking to do so. Now at the time I was a tried and true Heavy Metal musician but had to admit that I enjoyed a number of songs that the singer offered up and it was without question that she possessed immeasurable talent. Now, some thirty years after I first heard her songs, she is embarking on her “Madame X” tour and this one will hit more intimate theater spaces. Check out the press release below and the run of North American dates.
The Press Release:
Beginning September 12th at the BAM Howard Gilman Opera House in Brooklyn, New York, Madonna will perform multiples nights each in a handful of cities, including the Chicago Theatre in Chicago, the Wiltern in Los Angeles, the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, the Boch Center Wang Theatre in Boston, the Met Philadelphia and the Jackie Gleason Theatre at the Fillmore Miami Beach.
