The Press Release:
NY NOW®, the modern wholesale market for retailers and specialty buyers seeking diversity and discovery, has decided, based on recent developments related to the COVID-19 pandemic, and after consultation with our community partners, to cancel the NY NOW Fall Edition and co-located National Stationery Show, which had been scheduled for October 18-20, 2020, at the Jacob Javits Center.
Recent developments have made it impossible to bring buyers and brands together safely and successfully. This is due to the ongoing progression of the COVID-19 pandemic in the U.S., including the latest government data, measures, and guidelines on the phased reopening plans in the U.S.; the number of confirmed cases worldwide and domestically; current quarantines, containment areas, stay at home orders, and restrictions on congregating and large gatherings imposed by states and other government and public health authorities; travel restrictions into the New York City area; and the various company-imposed travel restrictions on employees affecting attendees and participating companies. Darius Rucker and Jon Pardi will also headline the series in Nashville and Nelly along with hometown legends El Monstero will headline in St. Louis, while Jon Pardi and local favorites Yacht Rock Revue will headline in Indianapolis.
In a wave of cancellations of concerts, conventions and festival gatherings that bring in lots and lots of people comes the not so surprising news that the New York Renaissance Faire for 2020 has been cancelled.
