VP Records To Sponsor First-Ever “Angela Yee Day” @ Restoration Plaza, Brooklyn

VP Records is proud to be a sponsor at the 1st Annual Angela Yee Day, this Wednesday August 28th from 3-8pm at Restoration Plaza in Brooklyn. Angela Yee from Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club is offering a FREE fun filled day for all ages with live performances provided by VP Records.

In lieu of West Indian Carnival week in New York, the event will include a line up of artists featured on Reggae Gold 2019 including Reggae star Christopher Martin, Rising reggae singer Naomi Cowan, Dancehall vixen Dovey Magnum who’s “Juju” is a focus track off the compilation and dancehall artist Noah Powa. Hit rapper Flipp Dinero will also perform his popular hits.

Lana Del Rey Announces The “Norman Fucking Rockwell!” Tour

Lana Del Rey has announced her highly anticipated return to the road with a run of shows across the U.S. this fall. Produced by Live Nation, the eight-city outing will kick off September 21st in New York and make stops in Seattle, Portland and more before wrapping October 11th in San Diego, CA. The highly anticipated trek will also include an October 10th date at the famous Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, CA. Tickets go on sale to the general public beginning Friday, August 9th at 10am local time at LiveNation.com.

Lana recently revealed the official release date for her forthcoming album ‘Norman Fucking Rockwell!,’ out everywhere Friday, August 30th, 2019. The album is now available for pre-order on download, CD, vinyl and cassette in bespoke formats. The highly anticipated album was mainly produced and co-written with Jack Antonoff and will include ‘Venice Bitch,’ ‘Mariners Apartment Complex,’ ‘hope is a dangerous thing for a woman like me to have – but I have it,’ and the cover of Sublime’s ‘Doin’ Time’.

The Lumineers Announce 2020 North American Tour

The Lumineers have announced a 2020 headlining North American tour of arenas and amphitheatres. The tour dates are in support of their upcoming album III out September 13 on Dualtone (an Entertainment One Company) in the U.S. and Canada, and on Decca Records for the rest of the world. Mt. Joy, who recently emerged as “a fast and furious 21st century success story” (Magnet), has been added as support for multiple dates. Tickets go on sale to the general public beginning Friday, August 16 at 10am local time at TheLumineers.com.

The Lumineers are playing the grand opening of the new state-of-the-art Mission Ballroom in their hometown, Denver. The show will be streamed live exclusively to The Lumineers’ Fan Club members via The Big Parade App. Join the Fan Club HERE. The special show starts at 8pm MT on August 7th.

IMPORTANT: The OZY Fest in Central Park Is CANCELLED!!!

You might remember our recently discussing this weekends OZY Fest (seen HERE in case you don’t). Sadly, the city has opted to cancel the event based on the extreme heat that was forecast for the weekend. At last check the news reported in the hundred plus as a real feel. Read more down below.

The Announcement:
Due to historic temperatures in New York this weekend, the City of New York has canceled OZY Fest. The National Weather Service issued an “Excessive Heat Warning” through Sunday, which happens when the combination of heat and humidity is expected to make it feel like it is 105 degrees or greater.

“The health and safety of New Yorkers is our most important concern, and we are left with no other option but to cancel all large-scale park events throughout New York City Saturday and Sunday. We are working hand-in-hand with OZY and others to make this as smooth a process as possible,” said Mayor Bill de Blasio.
