This past weekend I tried my hand at being a bit of a media rep/brand spokesman for my good friend Joe Kaufman who is the main Luthier for “Kaufman Guitars”. He had a table at the NY Guitar Show & Exposition and you can examine that coverage by clicking HERE once you are done with this additional narrative. This post has been compiled to show you the behind the scenes setting up stuff since I thought it would be fun to have for posterity. Check it out.
This sure would be a drag me around like a walker day if we didn’t stop at Dunkin Donuts to bring a “Box Of Joe” along with us. Of course we mighty have been better off grabbing this closer to the venue but who thinks about things in a sensible fashion at 6:30am when we left. Coffee never tasted so good once we arrived.
Now it was time to get all of the stuff out of the car and into the booth to assemble for the attendees that passed us by to be wowed.
The booth is now assembled. Not a bad job right? Some booths set up with the table in the front but Joe wanted to patrons to be able to come into the booth and give a sample to the wares.
Let’s take a closer look at some of the creations of JKaufman Guitars. Really unique looking and sounding stuff.
You might not have been able to tell via the above image but look I am 100% official today. Nice looking shirt for sure. I think I will keep it. This is also a great way to show off my Exhibitor badge with you.
Joe had brought along some vintage effects to sell out from his own personal collection and also for someone who asked if he would help get them to new musical homes. As a drummer, the actual awesomeness about these next few images is lost on me but I wanted to share them with you.
As we attended to the numerous passerby at the Expo, I ran into some friends of mine and let Joe give them a quick overview of the product line. Hee is Rocky Schiano of Street Sounds NYC. You might recognize his name from those “Gretsch Day” events at his shop. Here’s an example of that event in this bit of coverage from 2011 – Click HERE.
It was a great day for meeting people and trying to find those musicians who wanted to take home one of Joe’s creations. To see my full observations from the NY Guitar Show & Exposition just click HERE to see the pair of posts that I did on PiercingMetal. Until next time.
